Historic Rallying help

I have a colleague who is planning to rebuild a 1962 Morris Minor and would like to take it into Historic Rallying.

Can anyone give me any pointers to pass on please? Contacts / links and / or details for homologation / originality / allowable modifications etc.would be much appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

Dunnes should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Neil your best bet would probably be to ask in the 'historic racing and racing history section'... http://tentenths.com/forum/forumdisp...&referrerid=18

Neil - your colleague should look first at the Historic Rally Car Register site (wwww.hrcr.co.uk). The first question is - stage or road rallying ? The HRCR covers both. Links from the site will tell you about permitted modifications for most events.

If the answer is road rallying, then the second question is whereabouts - in this country, Europe, trans-continental ? Many local events have classes for historics.

There are many other commercial organisations also involved in historic road rallying - everything from gentle tours to full-on endurance events, in this country and aboad. For example the Classic Rally Asssociation do the Rally of the Tests and the Winter Challenge to Monte Carlo. HERO (Historic Endurance Rally Org) do Le Jog (excellent), Classic Malts, many others. The Auto Club de Monaco do the Historic Monte. Many road events include sections which are indistinguishable from stage sections - forests, airfields and suchlike - which can be damaging if you lose it.

Hope that helps.
