BTCC 2018 - Rounds 1, 2, 3 - Brands Hatch Indy
Finally, the 2018 season has begun!
So far the test sessions have been topped by Rob Austin, the new Dynamic's Hondas and joshCook, but most importantly the field still looks to be incredibly close - think it was about 25 cars within a second at Thursday's test day here. Last year Jeff Smith was on pole, with race wins for Ingram and Jordan. Any predictions? |

The Hondas of Goff, Neal & Cammish at the front of the grid for round 1. Despite Dynamics being behind schedule with the build that car looked on the money... as they learn more about it it can only get better!
Tempted to punt a few quid on Cammish for championship... |

So what’s up with the Subaru’s then? Have they been thrown yet another late spanner by TOCA?

The team seem to be busy complaining to facebook group admins about posts discussing their finances at the moment, as opposed to putting their efforts into the car. |

On a brighter note I think the Alfa could more than likely grab a podium on its racing debut.
Good to see Motorbase up there as well after a disappointing 2017. |

One prediction already true then: BMR moaning. Tony Gilham may have got into some stuck but I do not remember him moaning: he just stepped back, knuckled down and worked hard to get himself back up. BMR could do worse than follow his example.

Then again, why risk your brand new car in another wet test before the season begins next week.

It seems strange to have a brand new car, and miss out on testing opportunities. |

It's a result of the car being off the pace there in 2016 I think, they just haven't got the setup for those tracks. And look at last year when they hit form at the same tracks they did in 2016. I personally think it's an engineering issue.
