We've got our new seats for next year on order (our current seats fall foul of the new 5 year rule), need to get the belt cutters now and send the logbook off to have the photo changed.
The entry list is filling up nicely already - there's a good mix of cars on there, just need to encourage a 6R4 or two to come and play |

Indeed. There are plenty of people talking about entering, and the minimum entry has been reached within just three days of entries opening so it will be good to see who else enters!

Great to see this event on the calendar for 2014, myself and a few other Brands regulars are really looking forward to it, the previous events have been a great start to the new year! Well done the organisers.

Just seen a 6r4 is on the entry list!! A rebuilt one? Last time I saw this reg number it was a squashed pile of bits!! Cant wait to see it.
Just to say, this event has been my highlight event for last two years (don't tell the team I spanner for in bike racing) and I would not miss it for the world. Just need a Chevette to enter and its Christmas!! |

Longmoor for us tomorrow so got to keep it tidy - only two weeks until Brands. Looking at the seeded list for Brands there's some very quick cars out there!

That paint job should stand out on a cold, wet January day at Brands!
For the uninitiated petrolheads such as myself, is there a simple explanation of class structures somewhere? I've very much enjoyed the previous January meetings at Brands but it would be better to gain a better understanding of the competition rules for someone who is more used to club circuit racing. Is it based purely on engine capacity? |

Class A: Up to and including 1400cc Class B: Over 1400 and up to and including 1600cc Class C: Over 1600 and up to and including 2000cc Class D: Over 2000cc So within a class you'll have quite a variation in car spec - in Class C for example you'll have cars with a fairly standard 2 litre engine all the way up to ex works F2 kit cars and space framed thingies like the Darrians. Similarly there will be Escorts in a variety of specs in Class C and D. The top seeded car is a 1600 (Davrian) - it weighs nothing and has the engine and gearbox towards the back of the car so it's a bit of a beast and suits Brands very well. |

Please see competitor bulletin number two at:
http://brandshatchstages.co.uk/sites...letin_No_2.pdf which includes updated information on trailer parking, as the trailer park is unusable due to the recent heavy rain. |

Unfortunately there is a problem with the live results system as those trying to access it will know. I will upload results when I get them from the results team, and will do this as often as I get them.
These can be accessed via http://brandshatchstages.co.uk and click "PDF Results" http://brandshatchstages.co.uk/sites...GE%20TIMES.pdf |

Great event to kick off the year, thoroughly enjoyed the purist on track competition and the sunshine! Good entry, fast, furious action, big thanks to the organisers and car crews and well done Bert Mk2 and co. even if you did nearly miss that exit off circuit on stage 4! Good overall result for you guys I would have thought and the gearbox clearly held together, commiserations to the leading Scoobydoo falling foul with a puncture.
More spectators this year I thought even if it did thin out when the weather changed for the worse after lunch, stage 1 was very entertaining with the icy conditions round Graham hill and Druids. All in all, myself and my other Brands Hatch mates enjoyed the entertainment. |

We had a cracking day - 3 abreast going into the hairpin at the end of the start finish straight ('wrong' direction) was the highlight for us 9th overall and 3rd in class was a great result, well pleased with that - only 3 seconds off 2nd in class though and we lost that in the 'traffic jam' at the hairpin in the pitlane on the last stage - we had to duck inside the other 2 cars that were stranded there Almost did an extra loop on stage 4 as Martin was busy chasing our mate in his Astra rather than listening to where he was supposed to be going we got round though so no problem (I just knew he was going to do that too ).
As ever - thank you to all the marshals and organisers smooth running all day. |

My friend and I enjoyed the day a lot.
Some very hard rallying was going on, but that is what I like. A shame there were "only" 69 cars out, but most of them were really going for it. A big thanks Bert for the work you did. |
