TUSC Round 12: COTA

Well, the next round is only 10 days away, and IMSA hasn't released an entry list yet. Should be pretty easy for them, it will be very similar to all the previous rounds minus a car or two. The highlight of the weekend will probably be the WEC round, but the GTLM class should play well here too. The proto category will feature only one of the ESM cars, but we get to see the debut of Oak Ligier with the HPD engine. Also, we haven't seen any GT class BOP for this round, so that may be yet to come. "Watch this space" as they say.

Last years alms gt race was awesome and had no help from any full course yellows,I highly doubt gtlm will live up to 2013s awesomeness.the car will be spread out with the lay out of the track and this years whacky bop.

I'll be there. Going for the WEC race with TUSC as an afterthought.

I thought hard about heading over to Austin, but it is not practical for me to do both COTA and Petit. If there were a few more weeks between the races I might be able to swing it but not this year.

Drink

You bet that Corvette will enter its WEC entry to TUSCC also so they both will have 3 cars running.

2009 C6R GT2 and 2007 C6R GT1 liveries were great

I just noticed they still left on the stupid IMSA class branding crap. ESM took that stuff off for the WEC race. The car looks so much better.

2009 GT2? Meh don't remember them being anything special

2008 was my fav with the black stripes

This new one is so boring again. When they had three cars the last time in 2007 for Mosport they had very distinctive LAA-esque white livery for it (the same they used at Sebring in honor of Fellows), they should've tried something creative now too

That's not the regular season livery but the special 07 Laguna Seca badboyvettes-inspired one-off

But yes that was nice and different.

2009 GT2 still meh. All of their GT2/GTE liveries have been kinda 'whatever' for me

Yes that was nice, FIA GT teams generally had interesting liveries.

While the GT2 ones have been just plain generic and therefore forgettable, the only bad GT1 vette livery I can think of was the Exim Bank China SRT/DKR abomination. Though at least it was different...

let's say that a chinese flag livery is not so beliavable on an iconic USA car like corvette is. The black/vodafone livery of V8 racing is nice too.

Some flags are just not meant for such displays, that one makes the C6.R look like a clown mobile ready for circus act also, Porsche is not synonymous with France either but IMSA Performance Matmut has always illustrated the tricolor perfectly on their Porkies...

They tried to give the HPD more power with a bigger restrictor and then sagely added 90 pounds of weight to make sure it wasn't too fast ... say, when accelerating, which it couldn't do worth a damn anyway.

But I notice they cut the fuel tanks on the DPs ... Good, because it was a sick joke that the more powerful cars with bigger engines could travel farther on a tankful.

This latest allows TUSC management to say, "Even up until the last race of the season we are still fine-tuning P-class performance," without having to tell DP owners, "Sorry, your reign is over."
