When will a non-German car win LM again?
Don't worry, this isn't some anti-German rant, more something to consider.
Currently Audi are dominating at LM. Bentley were "allowed" to win last year, and face it, that car had more than a little teutonic influence. There are rumours that Porsche could be coming back, if so, it would be resonable to expect them to be victorious, if not straight away, then after a year or so. No other manufacturer's LMP efforts in the last 5 years have ever really struck me as standing a chance. The Cadilliac and Chrysler programmes were chronically mismanaged, MG ran out of money, and none of the privateer efforts really have the money to develop a car that can take on Audi. The Zytek looks like it might just about be on the ball, but it's unproven, and face it, it's still only "just about" on a par with a five-year-old design (the R8). So, to return to my original question, who can take on the likes of Audi and Porsche, and be in with a chance of glory? |

As long as the Jerries keep buying other car brands, it will always have a German after taste. Bentley is owned by VAG, isn't it?
