Viperion101's Tracks
I've already posted two tracks, Orlando World Circuit and Zaandamring, along with my King of the Streets forum, but now I'm going to make a forum for my tracks.

1) A training circuit doesn't need a run-in-run-out pitlane,
2) I totally love that track! 3) Keep the pitlane as it is and make it a RACEtrack But clockwise! Considering it the clockwise way round : T1 and T2 are a great sequence, followed by the fast back curves ending in a dramatic in-curve braking zone before a middle-speed right-curve, a more standard left-turn followed by a straight long enough to make a nice overtaking opportunity before the 180° left-curve, the this three right-curves each with a larger radius than the one before, allowing for progressive speed take up until you reach the pit straight again.... me likes And now that i look at it again are you sure you didn't mean it clockwise too? looking at some gravel areas it looks more like that. Cheers! |

It could be used as a training circuit or a racetrack, and I did mean for it to run counterclockwise

Could we have a plain view map of the layout from dead above? That would eliminate the distortion of the angled view.
I'd like to see it because this one looks promising. bio |

Cool!
I'm not sold on those two consecutive sweepers in the top section - too slow for overtaking action, too fast for technical finesse, and it takes up about third of the whole track - but everything else looks just fine to me here. bio |

Brasilia International Circuit
For my third track, I tried to go away from the super-curvy style, however there are a few large sweepers

What's appaernt right away here is the lack of overtaking places. There's only one I see, most of the track is too slow for overtaking

I like your design style with a tendency to use long sweepers. In purpose-built racetracks where there is sufficient runoff space to include those in a design, they can be pretty cool. It is them that make Athens, Brazilia and Winnipeg special.
The stop-and-go oval circuit layout at Brazilia is quite unique. I like that but maybe the "oval specialists" out there would not. It should be pretty interesting to see how they fare against their "road ringer" competitors on this circuit. At Athens, I would suggest adding a testing oval for use by manufacturers as a continuation of the long curve in the lower left part of the design to go all around the rest of the circuit and then some. That would keep the circuit operational for the time when there is no racing action. |

Your characteristic corner shape is everywhere on your most recent two tracks. My guess is the Circuit de Macarena has got a boyfriend whose name is Circuit de Vitorino. The corner shapes of that one surely look quite different. Would you like to have a go at designing it?

Don't think I've commented on this thread before. I like seeing the great steps forward and you can see improvements in every design! I especially like the tracks Brasilia, Circuit du Versailles and Hot springs. Keep it up!

Also, if anyone wants to tell me how to get things to snap to the terrain in sketchup, that would be greatly appreciated, so I don't just have to make flat tracks.

In Sketchup things don't "snap" to the terrain.
The most simple topography is plateau designs. Level sections of circuit linked by uphill and downhill straights. The second option is to have the circuit flat but add in small hills or scenery, around it, the circuit my still be flat but you give the impression of elevation. Anything more than that gets really complicated and time consuming |
