2009 V8SCFC: Round 14 Sydney & Season Awards Ceremony
Like Canberra, only warmer... Top Ten
Holly Wood Enterprises were the star attraction in Sydney, continuing their amazing run to take the first ever round at Homebush. Australian Motorsports reached the podium for the second time this year with second, ahead of Team Bourbonfone in third. Congrats to Olympic (Park) champions Fabian Coulthard, Shane van Gisbergen, David Reynolds, and Tim Slade! Hard Charger Award Finishing with a bang (and a 3 place gain) were Jose Racing Team, Rombles Racing, 101 Racing, Krypto Motorsport, West Surrey Racing, Zoom Motorsport, and JPMotorsport. The Paul Radisich Trophy For Reckless Endangerment of your Vehicle in the Pursuit of Championship Points. This trophy goes to the hardest of hard chargers, the team whose cars have bonnets shaped like accordions, holes where the headlights used to be, front suspension held together with sticky tape, and a spotless rear bumper. The Paul Radisich Trophy for 2009 goes to..... West Surrey Racing! for scoring three Hard Charger awards, against no Loser appearances. Congratulations 00 XR8! Biggest Loser Award Finishing with a 'BANG' (and a 5 place fall) were Lego Racers and Eastern North Carolina Racing. The Precast Concrete Federation Salver For Reckless Endangerment of your Vehicle for No Good Reason. This salver goes to the greatest of the gutterballers, the drivers who simply cannot keep their car on the road and would rather build sandcastles or test the crash rating of various fences and walls. The Precast Concrete Federation Salver for 2009 goes to..... Lego Racers! for being the only team to 'win' the Biggest Loser twice. Congratulations(?) Darth Falcon! The Attention Whore Cup For Getting Your Ugly Mug In Front Of Camera As Often As Possible. This cup goes to the team that loves the spotlight so much they were *always* on the podium, even when uninvited. The Attention Whore Cup for 2009 goes to..... Holly Wood Enterprises and Team Bourbonfone! for scoring five podium trips (two wins & three top-threes) each. Congratulations Holly Wood and Micklegend! Who am I kidding? Attention Whores never share the limelight! So to decide who gets the Attention Whore Cup there will be a fight to the death between Holly Wood and Micklegend this weekend at ANZ Stadium. The Roland Dane Mahogany Cabinet For Winning All The Time. This cabinet goes to the team that won so much they've outgrown their old trophy cabinet. The Roland Dane Mahogany Cabinet for 2009 goes to..... B.O.R.I.N.G.! for winning four championship rounds. Congratulations Boxy! Final Standings:
The Pete55 Memorial Trophy For Winning It All. This trophy, dedicated to a former forumer, fantasy team owner, and two-time top-3 V8SCFC finisher, goes to the team that wins the Ten-Tenths V8Supercar Fantasy Championship. The seventh name to be engraved on the Pete55 Memorial Trophy is..... Holly Wood Enterprises! Congratulations Holly Wood! Holly Wood Enterprises timed their run to perfection, with three consecutive top-fives and a win last time out in WA to take the series lead, and finally a commanding performance in Sydney to seal both the round and the 2009 V8Supercar Fantasy Championship. JJR Motorsport took the runners-up spot, 220 points behind, just ahead of Team Bourbonfone. S.A.M.S., second coming into the final round, slipped back to fourth, ahead of Australian Motorsports, Eagle Motorsport, L&P World Famous Racing, defending champions B.O.R.I.N.G., Brendon Engineering, and Jose Racing Team rounding out the top 10. I swear the off-season is actually less than the gap between some rounds these days... I'll be back sometime early next year (about a month out from the first round) with details of the 2010 V8Supercar Fantasy Championship. Hopefully you enjoyed this year enough to come back! |

51st.....
A spokesman for main sponsor Benders Deluxe Inflatable Inflatable Sheep™....''better than the real thing™ decribed the season as one big let down just when things were looking exciting. The Spokesman for Redneck Lager Beer was unavailable for comment as he appears to run off with his first cousin. And the No Fat Chicks Suspensions..."Wont let your arse drag on the ground™ spokesperson said it appears the drivers were dragging arse unlike their suspension. However Team Patron Mr A Bender said the team will contest next years championship and will not have the wool pulled over its eyes so easily by the opposition in the future. And in continuation of its All Kiwi line up talks are under way to secure the services of Mr G Murphy for next seasons championship tilt. |
