i got all th old f1 tapes of aryton senna n checked him out..he had the fastest car along with alain prost who was a great driver 2..and they both battled to the death..i saw a monaco qualifying where alain sets a time, aryton breaks it...alain sets a time and aryton breaks it..and then they showed alain rubbing his head in disbelief..that was aryton senna who made alain prost nervous.. i salute him..how can any1 of u compare montoya to him ? hes a rookie with no pressure...i wanna see him win a championship n see the pressure he handles while defending it !

I remember last year in CART after the F1 announcement, Paul Page asked JPM if he thought he was the next Senna. He said, "No. I am Montoya, not Senna."
The press and fans just love to pigeonhole dirvers as the next coming of this champion or that winner when they can never be that person. How many drivers have been touted as the next coming. Johnny Herbert's injuries and the teams he drove for did not help his career. Karl Wendlinger was thought to be the man to beat Schumacher but he is now a champion in sports cars after some lackluster results for an even more lackluster Sauber. We might all look back after 20 years and be able to unequivocably say that JPM was the best of the best or he could be a footnote in the history of F1 as so many other press appointed demi-gods have been. |

KC is right!
Look at it this way: Montoya is the next Senna, who was the next Gilles Villenueve, who was the next Jim Clark, who was the next Fangio, who was the next Nuvolari who was the next? Or Schummy is the next Prost, who was the next Stewart, who was the next Moss, who was the next Ascari, who was the next Rossmeyer, who was the next? Something like that....Is Raikkonen the next Schummy? You can't really say that, can you? |

I was about to post the same thing, jb!!
No offense Mr. Machine, but spelling his name wrong drives me crazy, 'cause I see it all too often, even on TSN in Canada. Ayrton did that to every other teammate he had as well. |
