Hey muggles, both those URL's appear to be the same. Would I be correct in assuming that the second story is the one about getting air time on CNN? http://www.tennessean.com/local/arch...nt_ID=19997562
What a disgrace! |

My question is this. What are Mark Day and these other drives so afraid of that they have to conspire to have her disqualified? Being bested by a woman? Did these guys ever graduate from the 4th grade? That's pretty childish behavior if you ask me.

Tim B...you hit it right on the head. Deborah is beating them in the points standing and being the children they are can't stand to be beaten by a woman.....actually children even have more smarts than the so called drivers at Nashville Speedway that were involved in this farce.

Here is a link to her web site & her comments about the situation. I can't blame her for not wanting to race there anymore. Those knuckleheads might try to put her into the wall.
http://www.deborahrenshaw.com/1.cfm click on the news tab & read the story from July 14th. |

I'm disappointed that race officials don't step in and over ride the ruling over grounds that it was just a huge farce. Forget the rule books. Ditto, I think Nascar would show real class by stepping in to put pressure on race officials. Nascar could always threaten to pull their sanctioning of the series.
I would also love to see the sponsors of those male drivers pull their support for them and move up to Deborah's car! |

Helton calls Renshaw, gives encouragement
http://www.nascar.com/2002/news/head....ap/index.html
The article doesn't mention the part about Mike giving her his personal cell number though... |

Our local newspaper had a picture and accompanying article of the Renshaw debacle on the front page of the sports section today.
Sterling Marlin stated: "I guess the guys were mad because she was hauling down the straightaway and she'd been getting a little bit of publicity here and there and they didn't like it". Jeff Gordon stated: "Jealously usually is the root of such protests". |

Deborah Renshaw's remaining ARCA races that she plans to qualify for:
Nashville SuperSpeedway, August 9th ChicagoLand, September 7th Talladega, October 5th Charlotte, October 10th I sure hope she can pick up a solid full-time ARCA drive for next year. |

Yes, it would be nice to see her run a full schedule next year. It appears like she has some great talent. Read the following :
Renshaw singin' in Music City USA NASHVILLE TN (7-29-02) Deborah Renshaw, in Bob Schacht's Ford Taurus, unofficially posted the quickest speed in ARCA RE/MAX open testing Monday at Nashville Superspeedway. Renshaw checked in at 149.953 mph around the 1.33-mile concrete oval ahead of Shelby Howard in a Dodge at 147.687. Mark Cash also posted speed at 123.849. The next event for the RE/MAX Series is the Waste Management 200 at Nashville on Aug 9. |

Yup, I read that as well
It's a bit off the most recent pole speed, 157.700 mph, which Frank Kimmel set for the spring-race this year, however, but I don't think she would have any trouble qualifying if she can equal, or better, that lap of hers on pole day. |

Deborah Renshaw finishes a "very respectable" 9th at Chicagoland Speedway Saturday in a field of 38 cars.
