Sweet, good luck, that would be a great score, especially when Webber wins the WDC

I do not think that Mark would lower himself that low to get involed in race in the taxi series. He has always stated that F1 comes before anything.
But I think that it is great that he making time to visit the taxi circus. |

Whats to stop MW jumping to a V8 for Longhurst, 888, or any team this weekend and having a once off race ??

What does he have to lose by doing it ??
Jim Clark used to do some touring car racing while he was in F1, but that was a different era. Williams are not bound to any manufacturer, so Mark could easily slide into either a Ford or a Holden and there would be no manufacturer spitting the dummy the question remains though, would Frank allow it ? |

With winter testing to start very soon (and don't they need it it..) I doubt whether FW would like Mark riding anything other than his road car and his missus.

you're thinking of Montoya - booked in the US doing 210km/h in his BMW X5 (when he was with Williams of course) driving one handed while he was on the phone, but apparently had food in the one hand on the wheels as well. Maybe he should go have a chat to Gary Rodgers - he is in a pickle for PI isn't he

Didn't he get in a little strife with the speed on the Harbour Bridge pass?

and I was told he never got it back. If this is correct then it was interesting to watch Channel Ten at the Australian Grand Prix, when they rode in his car from the motel to the Albert Park circuit. So my sources must be full of ****!

He never bothered getting his Australian licence back but he has one in the UK so he could drive here anyway as he'd get an international licence so he drive where ever he finds himself that week.

Last year MW was down Tassie way during the V8 weekend but was completing a grueling cross country run/ride/climb with a few others for charity. Is he doing it again this year?

I think he has a fair bit to loose by having a go.
Firstly people have been critical of him in the last year so if he didn't perform it would only get worse for him. Secondly, I don't think many drivers can jump straight into an Aust taxi and be on the pace. They are very different beasts to most other racing cars. So chances are he would be well down on the pace even though he is extremely talented. Thirdly, the v8's don't have the prestige of f1. In fact many people won't attend as spectators due to the perceived bogan factor. I'm not sure he would want to have this type of association. What would I know though he is attending after all. |

1000hp 500kg open wheel vs 600hp 1450kg Taxi. I am not sure what he would get out of it other than potential criticism and slow laps in quite basic cars.

F1 is 920hp 600kg
V8s are 620-30hp 1350kg |
