thinking out loud..... Richards/Prodrive to Jordan/Red Bull
Seeing as they did a great job at BAR and are now strongly rumored (autosport today) to be leaving, how about Richards/Prodrive move down the road a bit to Jordan or Redbull and get them heading in the right direction.

Not sure there's a vacancy as such at Jordan, but it could work for Redbull...

I'd have said it the other way round, actually.
Tony Purnell and David Pitchforth is a solid management team at Red Bull. EJ working with Dave Richards could be great for Jordan. |

As covered elsewhere...
http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=62177 ... Honda have bought 45% of BAR and David Richards is leaving at the end of the year as part of a "management shake-up". |

Things not nso unusual wiht huge corps.
Considering their skills with racing cars, I would expecet Prodrive to keep in the circus, but it's possible that some non-competition clause may be included in the takeover agreement. |

DR has masses on his plate already, with the WRC team the TV rights of the WRC to develop, etc aside from all the other Prodrive projects.
He may well want a break to look at other things. |

I thought that, but then I thought haven't they all got management structures in place that seem to work pretty well without DR having to get directly involved? Certainly Subaru and the GT 550s have been doing ok...

Maybe the Dubai people who are looking to enter in 2006 mcght consider Prodrive to be ideal to help withinitial start-up management and structuring? They probably have more need for it than Red Bull or Jordan.

The Dubai folk are using McLaren for "technical support" though so wouldn't need Prodrive.

I doutb he'll do anything in F1 for a bit and certainly not with teams like Red Bull, Jordan, or other newbies. The last two things he has done are Benetton and BAR.
Also he has lots of other things to do. Many many things. Rallying (in many capacities), Sportscar, etc... For now he is getting lots of cash to do not a lot next year anyway. For those that are crowing at his downfall, I'm afraid he hasn't had a downfall he has come out on top! |

I think you're right Adam.
DR is someone who gets a bad rap from a lot of people for no good reason. Good luck to him. |

DR seems to be Public Enemy #1 on some of the, shall we say, less intellectual F1 forums on the net, and it's all really unfair and misjudged.
