Wasn't that a fun race: Schumacher takes British GP (Results)
Wow, despite Ferrari's clear dominance, this was a corker.
Montoya showed everyone his big cojones; Bridgestone has a clear advantage over Michelin; McLaren had a day they will soon wish to forget and BAR FINALLY get a point. (5 actually) as both drivers bring it home. Great-Britain: Grand Prix 60E TOUR -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- P. Most drivers had their 15 seconds of fame this race
Barrichello (off course! MEGADRIVE!!!) Montoya (again MEGADRIVE!!!) Massa, recovering well form early spin Fisichella, working his way up Frentzen, knocking on the door for points Bernoldi, good fighting Kimi, good fighting Villeneuve, good solid drive Panis, same as his teammate Heidfeld, same as Panis etc.... |

GREAT race! What a dominant performance by Bridgestone. What in heaven's name were Ron and the boys thinking at McLaren?!
Michael and Rubens were both terrific. Its times like this that make me dislike Rubens more and more. With that kind of ability (and now the focus to match) why sign these silly contracts with Ferrari? |

So what was so great? I am in OZ, we dont get to see anything until tomorrow. Pathetic television. We never get qualifying either. Incredibly, its 10pm now and the TV listing has the F1 race screened at 5am tomorrow morning. Which inbreed decided that? S t rewth.

OHHHHHHHHHHH CLASSIC!!! Best race of the year by MILES!!
Where oh where oh where is the Michelin Inter?? Does it just not exist?? Why is it "so rubbish" that none of the teams used it (except McLaren in desperation)?? Madness. SO MANY great drives. So much action, overtaking, general chaos!! Sprinklers at the side of the track, turned on at random, computer-controlled intervals. It's the answer, folks... |

What was so great? Changing weather conditions that gave us more passes today than the other races combined! Terrific battles up and down the field.
Why don't they just periodically flood the circuit? |

I need to open a psychic hotline! I said in another post that BAR would score and they did. I am on a role. I did the same with Fishchella when he scored his first points.
Nice, really nice race. JPM impressed, he outclassed all of the Mitchelin drivers. Tires were obviously the biggest factor in the race. JPM did the best with less. RB showed how much better the Ferrari is than the rest of the field. But alas back to "my queros" the enemy did not finish and BAR scored 5 points. JV and OP were solid. It a shame that GF was not able to catch Nick. Also, Sato did not look particulary quick in the wet. I thought that was one of his strengths. Still he is not spinning off anymore so hopefully he will be able to pick up the pace throught the end of the season. |

But did you SEE the mid-field for the first, what 30 laps?? One long snarling battleground!! Oh, and the Scumacher/Monty battle at the start of the race was just fantastic. This is what it's all about. The two best drivers, fighting tooth and nail. (but, you have to say, the better one came out on top again....)

Well, I predicted if it was a wet race TGF would win and he didnt fail me. I havent seen the race so I guess I have that to look forward to. Apparently it will be screened on monday night at 11pm. I call that beyond lame. The utterly pathetic programs I have to endure on the australian network and they cant even do me one favour.

Pity for Arrows... they finally get the $$$ to pay for those Cossies and all they do is blow up on Frentzen just as he's about to pass the Williamses
And the TV coverage (world feed style) was actually good (aside from missing the final change of lead)... we saw other cars!! Even the battle for last place!! |

You have to say it's depressing that only rain can make a Grand Prix exciting.

Ferrari just had the best cars. MS could clinch the title next race. What they might do is tell RB to run second till the last lap when they will hit the "Blow up RB" button. Given a better car and tires I feel JPM would have won this race. His teammate was quickly falling back while he was able to still fight. He is a bad man.

But we had 1 tyre manufacturer in 1999 and 2000 and produced the most boring races in F1 history, as there is no incentive to produce softer gripier tyres. With the tyre war the tyres are softer and give more grip, thus allowing overtaking.

Brilliant race! Raikkonen looked absolutely phenomonel in the wet, making Ralf look rather ordinary. Bringing him in for drys when they did however made McLaren look quite foolish. Good race for Montoya also on what is obviously the inferior tire.
Good race for BAR also, they should send Bridgestone a nice Thank You card. Felt bad for Frentzen, looked good for a points position if not for his $4.7 million grenade. |

FANTASTIC!!!
Unlucky for Rubens that he had to start at the back otherwise i'm almost certain the race was his, given that if he'd stayed ahead until the rain, Michael would've had to queue. Nevermind though, cracking drive by both Ferrari drivers and Montoya did a brilliant job on tyres that clearly weren't the best. And even in the dry it was a corker of a race, battles all through the field which we were allowed to see! The scrap for last was brilliant! Also Massa and Bernoldi diding away with Schumi trying to lap them, so many side by side moments, BRILLIANT!!! |

Great race, bad result.
TGF winning in the best car with the best tyres. Montoya completely outclassed all the other Michelin runners, including his own team mate, who he lapped. What on earth was McLaren thinking? They managed to ruin both DC and Kimi's races - DC by keeping him out at least one lap too many, and they made the wrong tyre choice, which meant that Kimi fell way down the order. It was brilliant watching him when he easily disposed of Ralf, and he nearly overtook TGF as well, just before one of the pit stops! That guy is good! |

It was a bit similar to Malaysia last year. Some exciting first laps with JPM, MS and KR on slicks but unfortunately the inevitable happened. Its just a shame Ferrari have so much of an advantage. I really hope McLaren and WIlliams can close the gap in 2003.

Best race this year, I never thought I could enjoy another Ferrari 1-2 so much. Montoya did the best drive though, no-one, adn I mean no-one could've done better with those Michelins, even if they'd've been on a Ferrari.
