Oh dear, i didn´t know. A great driver that was never recognized in Spain as he deserved. Probably (with Jesus Pareja) our best sportscar driver.
He´ll drive in heaven anyway |

He was so young. I hope he is at the Happy Racing Ground now where all the true racers go.
My prayers are with his family and friends at this very sad time for them. |

Way too young, this is very sad. I always admired Velez very much. I was happy to se him get an IRL ride in 96, and sad that no one else gave him a shot after Evans' team folded. Fermin was a great driver who never got the chance he deserved.

Terribly young for anyone, particularly a respectable man and a driver of such a high caliber.

FermÃ* is after all, only comparable to Carlos Sainz in terms of success for the Spanish and Catalan motorsport. I was quite shocked about it. I knew nothing about his illness.
Adéu FermÃ*, you opened the American door of racing for us! |
