Well, I would definitely watch a Wallabies vs All Blacks game live and tape the F1 race if the two clashed.

Wouldn't watch anything else, ever. Only exception would be if a round of the V8 series clashed. I would watch and tape that, without ads of course and find out about the GP through other means- recent history doesn't leave too many surprises

Elton John concert! I'd rather stick hot needles in my eyes... but then I wouldn't be able to see the GP.

The Rugby and the Cricket are tempting, but out of that lot it's the F1 race.

I'd watch F1 in preference to anything else on the poll list. Trouble is, I know I'll fall asleep half way through..... |

F1 live would be the preference, of course, and since our CART race falls between the British and German races this year, I'll be missing nothing this time. However, since our NHL hockey team is near the top of the league and looking to go deep into the playoffs this spring, some taping is in my future, for sure. (after all, I'm Canadian!)

Out of these options I voted F1. But, a Charlton Athletic FC match, CART race or a concert of someone who's music I particularly like (nothing against Elton John, he's done some great songs, but mostly in his first 5 years as a star) would come first. So would sex.

OK, so despite all our moaning and groaning about Ferrari domination and processional races, It turns out that F1 still holds the most immediate live watching interest in our forum by a great margin.

1.... Ferrari supporters, and they want to see their team win. 2.... Non-Ferrari supporters, who, ever the optomists, want to be there to see....a) ferrari lose, b) their favourite driver win, c) anyother driver, aslong as it's not a Ferrari driver. |

Where's the two wheel vote?
F1 at the moment is a total was of air time especially to wake up at 4 am watch the first lap, some bloke lock up a wheel (not through overtaking but because he's only been driving for 3 months)and then possibly watch someone fill a car with fuel (Honey I'm off out for some excitment with the lads, were off down the ESSO forecourt)as you can tell I'm not a fan and have not been since Senna and Prost were scraping it out! |

mr v, there is the other option, which is that people want to watch because it is F1: it still has the magic pull on people because it is still the one they love. Some might be unhappy with its state at present, others not so.
I think there is often a tendency in the modern world to view things very cynically: whilst it is fair in many situations, less so for issues concerning the emotional side. In respect to F1, people will continue to watch because of what it means to them obove the physical representation it has been given. |
