Well Done Jordan!
At least Jordan-Ford benefitted from the disqualifications... the team is now ahead of Jaguar and Toyota in the race for 7th place in the championship!!!

I was waiting for this thread. At least it'll provide some much needed dosh to the team.
And Glock beat Heidfeld. |

Glock beat Heidfeld fair and square, or Heidfeld had problem? Sorry, I don't remember.

Nick ran over his fuel nozzle man, which cost him a minute or so.

After such a tough weekend for Jordan, this was richly deserved. Glock adds to the list of drivers to score on his debut, and they're now ahead of Jaguar....
I'm not sure what happened at that pitstop - it looked like the lollipop man had a total brain fade and moved out of the way while the car was still beign fuelled. purely rom the TV pictures, it looked like Nick didn't go back out as quickly as he could've. |

I wonder how does it feel for Toyota & Jaguar to be better than Minardi?

It's nice to see Jordan get some points, even if it was at the expense of larger teams. They need the money and F1 needs the team so it all works out quite well really.

Will this secure Glock's seat for the balance of the season, or will Pantano make a return... or will Jos get a go

Great to see Jordan get some more points, I know it was only because the Williams and Toyotas got thrown but at least Jordan can build a car that's legal

Glock did a solid job.
A very impressive debut at short notice. |

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to say something about Glock.
Without Heidfelds misfortune in the pits, it is hard to say whether he was going to beat him.....but none the less..nice work. Looks bad for Pantano though. I also noticed Glock being in front of Heidfeld in the practice sessions as well. Does anyone know if Glock is there mainly for his money, or if he has some real talent, as it appears. |

Glock is there on merit, but obviously his sponsorship helps!
He was more impressive this weekend than Pantano has been all year. |

I have to say I was happily suprised at Glock. I was half expecting him to crash out of the race in some silly error but congratulations to him on a seriously impressive debut when alot of drivers where all over the place. Maybe Ford will help Jordan more now. Even in Pantano returns he now has to prove himself against Glock alot more.

The dispute was over sponsorship money wasnt it? So no guarantee Pantano will return

Jordan should ask for their prize money in one big fat giant novelty cheque. That way they can beat the lolly-pop man over the head with it until he feels like he has been run over with a car!
Good to see 2003 F3 Euro Series contenders Klein and Glock in F1 now. I do recall some other chappie smashed the lot of them in that Championship though. What was his name again............? |

If Pantano can come back with the money he originally promised, I suspect he will come back, irrespective of Glock's result. I am thrilled for everyone else in teh team though - sometimes good things do come to those who deserve it.

Pantano was making great progress and its a shame he has run into difficulties. I think pantano will return in the us
Glock did a great job and deserved the point. He really showed the other rookies up especially klien. Heidfeld should have been up there with fissi and was 4 or 5 seconds ahead of him before his stop. The thing is fissi pitted 2 laps later and this just proves the progress Jordan have made with the EJ14 since Melborne. They have got their act together, are spending their money very wisly and are making gains with every development they introduce. I feel their achilles heel is the engine which has not changed since the start of the year where jaguar have had 3 or 4 upgrades since trhe start of the season. It just goes to show the gains the car has made. GO-JORDAN |

Pantano may have been making great progress, but this performance from (the much less experienced) Glock eclipses any that he has shown.

Considering their previous experience (Pantano did F3000 after all), I think Glock's been more impressive.

At the Australian Grand Prix, I and my fiance were hunting some autographs on the Friday afternoon - actually, it was effetively Friday evening, as it was about 7.00pm. There was this little guy in a yellow Jordan jacket coming out of the pit paddock who looked like he might be a driver, so everybody swarmed around him asking him for an autograph. We were all shouting "Pantano! Pantano!"
His response...? "I'm not Pantano!" It was Timo Glock but at the time none of us barely knew what Pantano looked like, and as for the Jordan third driver, well, nobody knew what he looked like! I wonder after Canada whether his recognition value would go up?! |
