What a race! False start, dry, wet, dry, numerous off track excusrions, safety cars, backmarkers taking out the LMPs, Vette leading most of the day in GTS, #77 Audi coming back from a penalty. Prototype and GTS classes a race right until the checkers, less than 1 sec margin of victory in each class. Whew! And all on nat'l tv. This should get some more fans into it. If it doesn't, nothing will.
Great to see the Vipers stay unbeaten. Not a big Mopar fan, but I do like Donohue, and I don't want to see GM do well cause they don't deserve to |

For those who do not get Canadian / US TV and have to wait for the UK Autosport mag, how about a brief race description and who won..... Sounds a good race, just what sports cars need. Simon |

Mosport Park track is a very old (paving wise) F1 track and in the rain it is much slicker than "new" tracks, which apparently the teams did not know, or did not understand, or did not respect - although I have seen cars allegedly familiar with this little weirdness end up doing the same imitation of ice skaters spinning off into the dirt --- I have to confess I let out a yelp when I saw the lead Panoz squashed against the barriers, as Mags obviously braked about a week too soon going into Corner 3 (where most of the cars went off, as it's a blind corner and apparently very hard to judge). The funniest move of the day was the 78 Audi and a Porsche backmarker waltzing into the dirt together - pilot of the Audi got out doing a Mika impersonation, walked over the Porsche, yanked open the door, and as the pilot got out, the two indulged in a great big hug! (I could hear Jean Alesi choking from clear over here.) Of course I was cheering for Ron Fellows, but I have to admit that Wendlinger made some masterful moves to keep ahead of him...well, it was Andy Pilgrim by that time, i guess ... and probably deserved the win. *snif*
However, I was cheering for Muller and I think if the track had been fifty feet longer, he would have taken Capelli. A very good race and I'm glad I was not there as it was raining, cold, and a lot like Snetterton was, in fact, when we were there last month! |

What are you talking about sl, get eurosport or British Eurosport. They showed nearly 2 hours of the race on sunday night.

Now i'm really depressed that i wasn't able to go! WORK the curse of this racing fan! I don't know about you LIZ but i would have loved to have been there bad weather or not, but then i like to go north and stand in knee-high snow to watch rallying. It's a disease which i have no wish to cure!
P.S. To Anybody that attended the race, how did the Multimatic Team do? |

I Was at the race
The Multimatic entry was withdrawn???????? The Fellows/Pilgrim Corvette entry, driven by Fellows, was pulling away from the Viper every lap, until they had an extra long pit stop, and lost the lead to the #91 Viper. Pilgrim made an extraordinary comeback and finished right on the tail of the Viper. I thing the Vipers will have to look out for this Corvette in future races. |
