TerryC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Alfa Romeo GT

I'd post it here rather than in the road car section. This car can never be homologated as a GT car right? Would you think it's nothing more than a standard saloon touring car with 2 doors?

I think the only thing stopping it being raced is Stefan Ratel's prejudice toward front wheel drive.

Would you mind telling us the story behind this?

It's just that the fairly competitive VW Golf and (rwd) Renault Clio were no longer welcome in British GT when the SRO took over as they "weren't proper GT cars". I don't think FWD is specifically outlawed, you'd just not be allowed to race it.

Well, considering the Golf or the Clio a GT is kind of a longshot, isn't it?

The Alfa GT would be a different story, though I'd be amazed if they got even half decent tirewear out of a FWD with ~450hp (N-GT trim).
FWD imho doesn't make sense once you get higher than the power we see in ETCC.

The Clio was quite a funky little car though, shame it's gone.

I'm sure it was listed in the program entries in the early season though...

Just checked, and it's in the Snetterton program.

The Clio was allowed into British GTs - Front WD cars were specifically outlawed this year. Tony Soper was hoping to run his Alfa GTV... the Golf wasn't going to race anyway, then it couldn't.
