Steve Soper
Who thinks Steve Soper's move on John Cleland in 1992 at the end of the year was legitiamate? Opinions please...

Don't get me started on this one!!
JC has made up with Soper for it and if my hero can forgive him, then i can too. P.S. Just got the 1992 Review video? |

Or i bet he just saw the Oulton Park review of the BTCC. THat reminds me, when are the Silverstone Night Races being shown on the BCC? Nothing AGAIN this weekend! I'd do the angry face but i don't know how!

They have the Derby and French tennis to show. Unless you want it crammed in and not shown in full, it's probably a good idea to keep it to next weekend.

I totally agree that it was an insane move. I live in the States so I don't get any coverage here, so i have to buy the review tapes.

What's wrong with Sunday Grandstand. I'll repeat what i've already said;
If BMP and the BBC want the BTCC to be big, they need to give it a regular, uninterrupted slot on a Sunday so it will never be moved if broadcast on a Saturday. A 1 hour show at the start or end of Sunday Grandstand. Makes sense, so why don't they do it instead of chopping and changing the schedule and making the BTCC sem like a 'secondary sport'. |

I'm not denying he's not a nice bloke, but i still think the move on JC was out of order. But that's in the past now so we can't do anything about it and so we should just move on.

Are you kidding me? Sure, it's exciting, but that was bad sportsmanship and totally intentional! Look at the replay, Soper is on the grass going into Luffield 1 (the corner where they collided) and doesn't even make an effort to go back, he just rams JC.

...denying JC of a possible title and certainly depriving us of a battle between the two championship protagonists (Harvey and JC). WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.!!!!

I think Will Hoy could have and should have won that championship because he was ahead of Harvey and Cleland for most of that race and Harvey only got past him by pushing him off. |
