I think I now have the full set of modern day BTCC. Unless there was a 1986 copy...?

PS I have also acquired a 1988 video but I have had that a dozen times over and sold them on. If anyone's interested in that feel free to email me with an offer and save me the effort of eBaying it!

All I need is the 89 Video..I bought one but apparently it has been lost in the post...

Pre 1987 Vids would be very interesting indeed...surely something must've been made, whether by amateuers or that as there was ETCC Videos from the early 80's I believe.

PS 1987 Video is actually a Dunlop production I believe as they sponsored the series at the time.

No, don't do it! Horrible noisy little buggers.

So you gonna start looking out for the York result on Grandstand then ? I had a shirt arrive too... but it has my name and the number 10 on mine! One thing is for sure - I'm gonna stand out and people won't be able to say they missed me in the paddock!

You'll soon have enough people in the paddock with them on, to make a whole footy team!

Lucky buggers, i would do anything for any pre-91 BTCC video's, cos in Australia thats when the copies start. I loved Group A, only thing pre-91 i have is a 5 minute review of the Silverstone 87 BTCC round that Channel 7 did during one of that years ATCC telecasts.

I'm not sure if any pre-87 BTCC reviews were made, but i have the 1983 ETCC review, as touringlegend said they do exist.

racer69 - Amazon.co.uk has a few pre-91 BTCC videos I seem to recall, and also Bathurst review tapes from the 80's, 90's etc, not sure if they ship outside the European Community though...don't think they are allowed as part of some trade agreement...?

I know he definatly raced in 1988 and 1989. In '88 as Frank Sytner's teammate in the Prodrive BMW team (had a funny altercation in the pits after Snetterton), and in 1989 as Robb Gravett's teammate in the Sierra's, i think he could have driven in the 1990 BTCC as well, also with Gravett, don't know what happened to him after that though.

Interesting thing about those Trakstar? Sierra's that he and Gravett drove is that they were built by Dick Johnson Racing in Australia.

Craig,

I can't believe you paid over 60 quid for it! A serious amount of money for a video.

I have had the 87 season for a while but it is not an original. I also have a copy of the 84 season, when it ran as the Trimoco British Saloon Championship. I think the coverage was by Neville Hay, I will have to dig it out and watch it at some point to confirm.

I also have lots of rounds from 1988 from Grandstand and I am sure one of them had Mike Smith in-car with a microphone and he descibed his race as he was driving. I seem to remember he had some problems getting past Mike O'Brian in the big Holden Commodore so he decided to giving him a nudge to display his intentions. Good in-car stuff.

Well with 88,89 and 90 videos regularly changing hands for 25 or 30 quid it's not *that* bad considering just how rare the 87 review is... Shame it went that high really but I did want that video... hehe

Just depends on your luck at what price you get some videos, ie I got the 88 and 90 videos for 12 quid altogether !
