BTCC 2018 - Rounds 13, 14, 15 - Croft
next up Croft
After The Old Guard Strike Back will the we have The Return of the Young Guns ?? Tingram and the gingers or will WSR do another 1-2-3 and JP having another pointless weekend ? , if BMR doesn't do well on this track then they are finished |

Croft should suit the same types of cars as Oulton, so the BMWs, Hondas, Mercs and Fords should be the ones to watch again.
Hopefully we can see the weekend through on a happier note than last year... |

Forecast for the weekend looks fairly warm at the moment.
I think the BMW's should be up there, though perhaps not right at the front. My bet is on a Honda pole position. |

Well I'm thinking a Honda pole and good results in the first race.
The BMWs will be good, especially if they lose some weight for race two. I see the Subarus making up the numbers again. I fancy Tingram for a win, maybe the reverse grid. |

if Neal didn't have that rallycross moment he would be 4th in the standings, but now being 6th means less weight, he either seems rejuvenated or he is the same but there isn't Shedden to overshadow him ... Cammish so far isn't on the level of Shedden
will be interesting to see if Simpson can replicate his performance , say if he managed a Top 5 qualy |

and this one clashes with two things, The returning French F1 GP and an England game. So I wonder how Croft will handle the England game issue

Is that some sort of Association Football thing going on ? Manchester rovers playing again ?
Oddly enough ,I will be at Croft , probably wondering , as I did last year, where all the spectators go the rest of the year....Now, should I take my stanley knife to remove those selfishly erected bloody gazeboes which ruin everyone's view ? |

Stanley knife.... excellent idea.
Or alternatively you could assist Mr Kim to denuclearise by using some to tactically bomb them. Damned gazebos and tents should be banned: wear a waterproof/ sunhat, selfish people! |

They are becoming a real scourge!
Now it is fine if you erect it (ahem) at the back, maybe at Brands somewhere like the edge of the bank before the fence at clearways. That's fine. But this past Sunday for instance, quiet day at Brands Hatch, i'm sat on my chair on the bank by graham hill, and some bloody great tent goes up right next to me! It was sunny, no rain, no real wind, so why the tent? The people then sat around it on chairs! And don't get me started on those who stick them right at the front at paddock and Druids.... by all means get there early, claim a spot with a chair, that's what I do, but then at least others can sit/stand behind me and still see.... |

If the Subarus still struggle in a straight line, at least the nature of Croft will flatter to deceive a bit. Expecting Sutton to pull a rabbit out of the hat and qualify in the top 10, and then build a solid weekend from there.

He only came out of the pits with 5 minutes or so to go as well. Be interesting to see the speed trap figures when they come out.
Less than 2/10th between Sutton and Plato. |

it’s only the first practice, everyone was using old tyres and the times were slower than 2016. so you can expect the Subaru’s to tumble down the time sheets during the day.

Plus it being a RWD circuit, it should help the Scoobys

Can't see it some how. |
