What will the entry list be for Petit Le Mans 04'???
Regarding what the entry lists have been for the past ALMS races this year, I was wondering what teams will show up for PLM 2004?? There was a good list for Sebring with some top teams. Here is my proposed list:
Champion Audi 2 cars Intersport Lola 1 car Dyson Lola 2 cars Banna Joe Lola B2K/10 1 car Riley and Scott MK# C 1 car Dallara LMP Judd 1 car Panoz GTR-1 1 car Lola B2K/40 3 cars Corvette C5R 3 cars Barron Connor 575 GTR 2 cars Saleen S7R 1 car Carsport Viper 2 cars Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT 2 cars Porsche GT# RSR 7 cars Panoz Esperantee GTLM 1 car Ferrari Modena 360 GT 2 cars Total 32 cars |

There would be possibilities not mentioned, depending upon whether or not Petit will continue to carry an auto bid to LM for the class winners:
Audi UK Taurus Lola (Judd or CAT Diesel) A Zytek (to show it for possible buyers in North America) A Courage C65 (if the rumors in another thread are true that a North American team might be looking at buying one...Petit would be the place to unveil it.) Goddard's converted Reynards (that haven't shown up yet this year, have they???) Team Nasamax??? Otherwise, I don't see many (if any) other Euro-based operations coming to Petit to run... What about new chassis that are supposed to be unveiled later this year? the Panhard LMP2??? the PRC LMP2???? the new Lola LMP2 chassis in the hands of an existing customer team like Intersport??? Just tossing these out there, gang....I love to speculate!!!! Last edited by Tim Northcutt; 13 Jul 2004 at 19:46. |

Taurus. they bought both Intersport B2k/10's.
intersport owns the B2k/40 that runs in the LMP2 class. |

I thought that the Taurus Lola Judd was bought from Rafanelli, or whomever it was that ran the Lola B2K/10 that was sponsored by Olive Garden a few years ago...is that incorrect??? I thought that a guy known as "Batcave" on this Forum was a driver with Taurus, and I remember him saying that it was the old Olive Garden car that they raced last year... I do remember, however, reading that that the one that has the Turbo-Diesel was from Intersport, and they bought it after Intersport acquired the R&S cars last August but I could be wrong about that, too....can't remember where I read that one... Finally, I believe that the B2k/40 that Intersport bought for the LMP2 class was from Knighthawk....they had an old one that they sold cheap....for something like $80,000 or $90,000.... Does anyone know for certain on these cars??? |

Taurus bought 3. their first chassis was the ex Raffy one.
Intersport got a brand new B2k/40 from Lola themselves in the begining of the year. all of this stuff has been on DSC.. |

in the light of getting a leMans entry ,I´d say it would make sense to go there for other outfits too.Anyone out there to know how the Lmes fares 2005?If you got a car you should race it and the ALMS looks like a good playing ground for LMP675s...

In other classes, there may well be a second Saleen S7R before the year is out. There is also talk of a second Panoz Esperante GTLM.

But it raises a question: Then who bought the old Knighthawk B2K/40??? and I'm not confusing these with the B160s that Dyson bought late in 2002..... Knighthawk had a B2K/40 for $90,000 that was sold to someone...I saw it listed on Racecarsdirect The American Spirit Lolas were both from Archangel...one of those is the Miracle car now, isn't it??? I'm just trying to figure out who got it if Intersport didn't get the Knighthawk B2K/40 chassis... Thanks! |

The ex-Knighthawk Lola B2K/40 is now owned by Van Stuer.

It works!!!!
There isn't a lot of "meat" on that site, but at least there is a rendering... Allegedly, they were going to begin production in March on the LMP2.... The car is supposed to be completed in the fall, but the plan is to run in the 2005 season... Do you think they might take it to Petit, or enter one of them just to give it a whirl for potential customers for 2005???? I seriously doubt that we would see an "actual car" before they would plan to unveil the first model....and the site seems to indicate that would be in the fall... |
