Thanks boys!

I'd just like to say thanks to Graeme, JohnW, Trevor and Dennis for their hard work in Donington's Pit Lane today. Not an easy pit lane to work in at the best of times, we had the added complication of no proper pit exit lights and various hospitality guests and spectators wandering in every now and again.

When you consider that only one of the above named is a regular pit marshal and the other three are drivers then you'll understand why I wanted to publicly thank them for their efforts.

A great job by all of them.

Thanks again boys

Boys! Sheila you really must get some new glasses.

Much appreciate the thanks, but we had a great day both in the pit lane and being promoted to flaggies for the day on Post 1.

This wouldn't have been possible without the help, advice and direction from Jason Breeze and Neil (sorry Neil, didn't get your surname). It was a pleasure to meet you both. Hope we can do it again sometime.
John and Trevor

You might have guessed that should be 'enjoyed'!

Thanks Fred,
Pleasure to meet you and sit in comfort in the safety car

Time may prevent us becoming regular additions to the orange heroes, but it may be possible to become frequent visitors. At least you should have the rest of our entrants getting in your way this year, and who knows, maybe their families as well.
I'll be raising the possibilities at our Pembrey round next wekend.

Hope that Graeme eventually got home after his bike problem.

See you all soon.
John

John, I don't need new glasses - the ones I've got are fine. I can see the sun during the day when it's not obscured by cloud and that's a fair distance away!!

Anyway, did you want me to start the thread by calling you old gits?

Graeme had a bike problem? What was that then? Graeme where are you, tell us about your bike problem so I can stop worrying about you

Chiggers Old Lad, I couldn't POSSIBLY say those nasty words about those two lovely boys Besides, I have to be nice to them - don't forget I'd barely got through the door of the Bull when they shoved a glass of wine in my hand with orders to get a refill when I needed it! AND, John did buy me a double Jamesons at the end of the evening

Mind you, their flagging left a lot to be desired. I wonder if their shoulders are still aching?

Stu, stop being cruel!! You didn't see the way they were flagging! You know, holding the flag at the very end of the stick and using the whole arm from the shoulder

I tried to teach them to just do the wrist action thing but they couldn't grasp the concept at all, bless them Maybe it was an age thing after all

If that was the alternative, you have a point

Graeme's fine, his bike suffered some damage, he was waiting for the RAC to transport him home to Macclesfield. Might even be there by now!

Chiggers, my stylist will be very upset. It takes a great deal of time and expertise to create this look.

Now what's all this about aching shoulders? Finely tuned athletes like ourselves have no problem with a bit of handkerchief waving.

Crazy. Pot Black is snooker old son, not much call for Kettles

So it's true what they say about flag marshals! Explains why they are all short sighted.

Which explains why Flaggies have great trouble becoming observers, and trying to do both at the same time..... Is it medically possible???

WHAT!!!!? When we left there were two cars and a bike down by the helipad exit and it looked like there had been some kind of coming together. Please don't tell me it was Graeme on the bike otherwise I'll never forgive myself for not stopping.

No that wasn't Graeme. His problem was mechanical, in the paddock.

The road accident at the helipad didn't result in any injuries other than dented pride. The bike was sitting in someones car awaiting transport.
All's well, relax.
