Rd 16,17,18 Snetterton

both Dynamics drivers moan about straight line speed

After this round boost readjustments are done, so Gow must really give them more boost unless he wants a WSR to get the titles before Brands final

Shedden my tip for Race 1 win. Less weight = more speed.

Michael Caine in for Chris Smiley at Hard

My pre-season prediction of Team Hard switching drivers at least once has came to fruition

The revolving door at Team Hard has started spinning, who will be next in/out?

Didn't realise it was on this weekend, usually it's August they come back from the summer break. Good to see Caine back, would be nice to if he had a full season to show what he can do

The funding problems
http://www.touringcartimes.com/2016/...urotech-drive/
This is becoming so stupid. Every event there are drivers who don't have funds.
Tja said on BTCC 2017 that you need 700.000 Euros for two cars.
In TCR International you can run around the world with three cars for 500.000...

Great to see Caine back in the BTCC until the end of 2016. He can pedal.

2 points.

1. Every event?

2. How many drivers have been in the TCR International series this year?

1. Here are Lloyd and Smiley for this one and there are every events talk about someone don't have money for something. Like Welch don't have for RML kit.
2. How many drivers we had in second season of BTCC?

Those weren't accurate figures, just a rough guess.
Costs are still high though, car prizes are capped at 200.000£ without engine as far as I know. No idea how that's divided over the 5 years or so that they're used. And of course if you build your own cars, that prize may well be higher, then there's development costs, actual running costs etc.
While costs are high, the variety of competitive cars is huge and 30 cars are still a very good grid. TCR doesn't have that variety yet, only SEAT Sport, Kissling (which isn't ready yet) and JAS are actually capable of producing a significant number of cars for teams to buy and prizes have already gone up a bit. The BTCC is in a pretty comfortable situation at the moment as it can watch how TCR develops. Even if it lost another five cars, the grid would still look alright.

A shame to lose Lloyd, he was really impressive. Have to admit, I didn't notice Smiley too much. Hard to impress in an average car though.

A shame to lose Epps and Lloyd, they both did well in the cars they had.
I know. TCR is only in it's second season. They will have more cars in future but TCR main thing is to make cars to be cheap and run in many championships. There are 12 championships using TCR spec cars. Where would people from Russia or Portugal find that kind of money to run 10 NGTC cars?

That's a damn shame about Lloyd, he was putting in some majorly impressive showings - someone else can work it out, but for the three events he competed in he must've been close to the highest points total out of any of the Honda drivers?

3 examples is not every round, so your first post was greatly exaggerated. Welch is also on the grid still.

1987 was a long time ago.

You have a semblance of a point.

Seriously, do you really think there is a single car in BTCC where the driver doesn't bring a budget??

Hold-up... There hasn't been this much young talent on a BTCC grid for many a year. Losing Lloyd is a big shame as he'd demonstrated big promise, but he was a late addition to a grid stacked with young talent. Smiley's move to Clios is good for his momentum and Caine coming back is the sign of any good BTCC season imo. Lloyd will be back next year, I have no doubt.
