MSV Marshals Track Days 2008

Once again MSV have been very generous and offered marshals the opportunity to drive their own cars around any one of the 4 group circuits. There is a slight change from previous years in so far as you will need to register via the weblinks below.

Please try to make as much use of this great offer as possible to make the days as successful as our previous events. You will be required to produce your drivers licence at sign on as before and you are welcome to take a guest as passanger, but please understan your guest will NOT be permitted to drive. This is a day especially given to marshals as a thank you for all our hard work throughout the year.

Please note that when you register on line, please give your MSA number in the car reg box. This is to stop non marshals from highjacking our day, I'm sure you understand the need for control.

Please also note that you can only book for one track day, so choose the circuit that suits you best or is your favourite. There is nothing to stop you from attending the other track days as a passenger.

This year we are limiting hot rides to two cars per event, so anyone wishing to bring a two seater race car please contact me for details.

The dates and links are as follows:

Cadwell Park Sunday 27/01/08
www.motorsportvision.co.uk/cadwellparkmarshals

Brands Hatch Monday 28/01/08
www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brandshatchmarshals

Snetterton Thursday 31/01/08
www.motorsportvision.co.uk/snettertonmarshals

Oulton Park Friday 01/02/08
www.motorsportvision.co.uk/oultonparkmarshals

Please join me in thanking Jonathan Palmer, David Scott, Alex Baker & Nick Rice for their help in making these days possible.

Have fun everyone!

Hooray at last! Will you still be looking for racing teams to come and play?

Excellent, thank you Mssrs Palmer, Scott, Baker & Rice.

BTW - am I missing something, or is there no way to add a day (Oulton) to my basket - or do I just need to phone up after I've regsitered?

A masive thank you to JP will send email again.

very big thanks to all who have worked to make this possable, and if anyone wants to find out what it's like doing a 720 going through cascades along lakes side I will be at Oulton with the MR2 Tubby again.

Also going to Cadwell again scary in the wet as the barriers are even closer than at Oulton.

Right, there may be a problem with one or two of the links which will be sorted by Alex and the gang tomorrow, so please don't worry if you have not been able to register at any of the circuits today.

As for the 'hot rides' I am speaking to the guys to see whether they are happy for them to happen this year.

I should tell you that if any of the days are not well supported, MSV will quite likely open them up to other novice drivers as they did for one last year. So, it's up to you guys to get enough of you together for each event to make it exclusive. I'm sure that you all appreciate there is a cost element to MSV for these days as they have to be staffed etc, so if we don't bring enough marshals along it is completly reasonable for MSV to open the days up to others.

It's in your hands folks!

Are the days open to drivers without any track experience and/or official race qualifications?

Just to say many thanks to Jonathan, David , Alex and Nick!

Wow, thanks for organising these days chaps, this marshailing lark is even better than I though it would be

Just one thing though. It says I'll need to bring along my MSA Marshals Licence number. I'm a member of the BMMC and have a membership number, Does this automaticly register me with the MSA and provide me a licence, or is there something else I need to do?

Thats me and my boat booked in for Cadwell

AR-CoolC are you a new addition to the marshaling fraternity? if so I doubt that you will be registered with the MSA untill you are upgraded from trainee. I know there were a couple of regular marshals at Cadwell last year who are not members of ths BMMC or any club, but were allowed to participate after being vouched for by a MSA registered marshal who knew that they were marshals. I sugest that you bring along your BMMC membership card and if you have any grading cards with signatures and go from there

Guys, check the amendments I made this morning. You need to enter your licence number in place of your car reg number on the registration link. If you are a trainee and don't have a MSA licence put in your BMMC membership number and see if it works

Dean - things changed slightly this year that MSA is registering New Marshals and giving them a license number.

AR-CoolC - if you've joined the BMMC is might be worth having a word with your regional grading officer, what i did at the start of this year was fill in a new marshals form which was sent to the MSA by the club. Tho the time scale could mean you dont get a license number in time (my form was sent in Febuary, and recieved the license mid June) so your best bet now is to possibly call the number and talk to them and explain. I did the track day last year without a license number, just let them know i was a trainee

LS: The reason I put it how I did is my daughter joined BMMC in January and has just sent in her upgrade to specialist and has still not received her msa number.

Stephen: I unfortunately filled in my online application before noticing the amendment to your post so therefore I did not include my msa number. My booking was accepted but does this mean it may now get canceled?
