Help Identifying Video Clips

Hi, I found this video clip on the internet a while back, and it's been troubling me ever since as to were it took place and who was involved. It's obviously the BTCC, either 1996 or 1997. But who are the drivers (I know one of them is Hoy), and what track is it?

I've uploaded a screenshot for you (below), and the full video is here: http://cfm.globalf1.net/downloads/vi...es/unknown.asf

It's an ASF file, so if you are downloading it, save it to your hard drive first (right click the link, and choose save target as), rather than just viewing it from where it us. Otherwise it'll take forever and ever...

It's Alain Menu and Will Hoy in 1996 at Thruxton.

Yep its the second Thruxton round of the 1996 season. Menu, Hoy and Jo Winklehock all came together at the Complex on the first lap!

If I remember correctly Joe bogged down at the start at the Renaults just pounced on him. They blamed Joe for playing rough and pushing the right Laguna off to the grass where it spun and took off his partner. As far as I was concerned though that Laguna never even came near the grass. Sounded to me like a team closing ranks and blaming soemone else. In my opinion of course.

Menu said right after the crash in the radio something like "...and I think Will (Hoy) started it..."

They all kept saying that there's plenty of room for 3 cars alongside each other. there was only a bit of contact, and bang!

Thanks, I am in Australia, so I don't get to follow the BTCC much at all. I actually have a few videos I need to have identified, I might post them here on this thread every now and then if that's OK with the moderators.

Funny this thread coming up actually because I finished watching the BTCC 96 video last week adn you're right, they don't race like they used to. Round 23 I believe it was at Brands Hatch... first turn and half the field get taken out. Was great action and seeing cars making their way through carnage to get picked up later by another car spinning off. Made for great footage and luckily no one was seriously hurt. The restart of that race had half the grid missing. Really spectacular ending to that year.

Another one folks....1996 again, but who is it, where is it, and what circuit? Maybe it's the Brands Hatch race Gas Man is talking about?

Sorry I am asking all these question, but there is a reason for it - there are loads of F1 video sites, but none about Touring Cars, so I want to upload some Touring Car videos. I have about in total so far.

That clip is of Paul Radisich (my main man) hitting Patrick Watts' Peugeot at Brands in 1995. Watts tried a move on the inside of David Brabham's BMW at Clark Curve, and Brabham came across and hit Watts, in the slippery conditions Watts lost control, grazed the pit wall, came back across, and then was right in the way of Paul Radisich's car as he came through. He was coming up through the field too.
