Mallory 17th September: THANKS.
Thanks to all who were at Mallory yesterday. I know we were a bit thin on the ground in one or two places but with all your hard work we managed to get the full days racing in before the curfew, despite the drivers best efforts at causing chaos!
I for one enjoyed the racing and hope you all did as well. Now for the plug! Don't forget the Plum Pudding meeting on Boxing Day! Thanks again, Fred |

I wasn't marshaling, I was shooting - but that was a great days racing and well worth the trip. Made two new converts aswell, maybe they'll be marshals one day...

I agree with Fred that it was excellent racing. We had a good day on post 10 with plenty of incidents to keep the incident marshals occupied. I apologize for missing a few "blues", but it is difficult when you are flagging on you own and having to look all round the hairpin. It was certainly a lot easier when the flag post was on the outside of the circuit!!
At least we got back to the bar just as the rain started. |

Yes, great day. Just one disapointment, why is the longest race of the day always the most boring. We were all taking bets on when the Esprit was going to blow.

Had a great day @ the Esses, with Elaine, Wiggy & Ken. Saw a cracking bit of 'sensible' marshalling from Alan Crook - the I.O @ the hairpin, to let the Europa driver know that he was on fire (well the car anyway), Alan held a Fire Extinguisher in his arms & made sure the Driver saw it as he turned in for Shaws. The driver acknowledged and pulled off in a safe place & Marshals put the fire out. The Driver sent his thanks back to Alan.
this bit of common sense marshalling certainly saved the driver a lot of money. Well done mate. |
