Return of the TEN-TENTHS RACING LEAGUE!!!
Right folks, it's that time of year again...
The Ten-Tenths Racing League is about to return! My initial thoughts are that for ease of working out results and applying equal rules, the best option is to use Formula One '97 again (PSOne and PC), also as this seems to be the most common racing game owned. Gran Turismo - the original - is also a possibility, but to be honest it's far harder to implement rules and keep it fair. The F1 '97 system worked out last time was pretty darned good but will be modified. Please post all thoughts on this or PM me, especially if you would like to join. New for this year will be fixed weather for each race, and a Constructors Championship, so we need as many people to join in as possible!!! Cheers, Mf. Oh, and the website will be back in action, eventually!!! Last edited by Minardi fan; 7 Aug 2002 at 12:53. |

Those games are getting on a bit don't you think MF? We could do it with GT Concept because there's no tuning or part buying to so it would be down to skill.

Because they're more difficult to set rules for, and less people own them.
Damon, there's no point in using any PS2 racers as not enough people own them - especially nonsense like GT... For this to work it's got to be a game which is known inside-out - and F1 '97 fits the bill perfectly, especially as it's STILL the best bloody racing game out there... |

Of course, as long as it's Psygnosis' F1 '97 in some form - I use my PS2 to run it and I suspect a lot of other people do now.
If you are interested in entering check out last year's thread. There are some rule changes which I will clarify soon - namely fixed weather for each race, plus the Constructor's Championship. One thing I would like opinion on is whether or not participants wish to choose their driver, or for it to be picked at random from the mid-field teams, so as to prevent unfair advantages and disadvantages. That said, my Minardi ran the Williams' pretty close last season in terms of results so... If you're interested please PM me. I'd like to get this thing started a.s.a.p!!! Cheers, Mf. i would be interested in joining, but how would it work? we could use the challange mode from F1 2001 (PS1) as that is the most fairest, i think. everone in the same car, same driver.

Count me back in - I can't do any worse than last time! I think I got rid of F1 '97 though - do enough pepole have a copy of 2001 (Either EA or SCEE) on PS1 or 2 - or know where I can pick up '97 dirt cheap?

F1 97 is brilliant. Shame I left it in england. Will it work OK on PS2? I tried GT2 on my PS2 and it was pathetic.

Right, Hakkidude and I are signed up... not much of a championship... yet!!! Hakki - I'm not sure if you can be the requested driver - I think a random system is preferable with cars from the mid-field.
I want to start racing by the end of the week preferably, especially as TOCA isn't too far off and we'll all get distracted and never get this thing started!!! Cheers, Mf. |

Hey, there's an idea. Seeing as almost everyone here is getting race driver why not wait till that comes out and do something with that?
