Gloves!
Hi All
I'm looking to get some new kit for christmas, and why not if someone else is paying, and want to get some new gloves. I don't need gauntlets, but want some mechanic style gloves, seen quite a lot of marshals wearing them. Can anyone tell me what sort of thing i should be looking for and where a good place to get them from is? And how much I should be looking to spend? Cheers folks Jon |

These are what I wear for Flagging or when I'm I/O.
Ringers Gloves Beware though, they are not recommended for Fire duty as they are close-fitting and cannot be quickly removed. Good old-fashioned welding gauntlets are the best I've found. |

I know these may not be the type you want but I get my working gloves from Screwfix.

I wear ringers in the Pit Lane because (a) they are comfy and (b) I don't need to take them off to write.
I got mine at the Autosport Show for £9.99. |

Personally I have never liked the welding gauntlets they get wet very easy, and i find it difficult to operate an extingusher with them.
Ringers gloves, are very good and I wear them for fire duty, they will protect you from a resonable amount of heat, (well the most amount of heat I want to get close to). Demon tweeks and the like sell them, and don't forget to ask for a discount... |

I use sparco Nomex driving gloves for intricate stuff. Thin enough to wear gauntlets over the top of for heavy work too.

Try arco they have a big range of all sorts of gloves including the ones that the fire brigade use http://www.arco.co.uk/cgi-bin/arcobv...t=cpv&page=449
The ringers gloves are very good and I have a pair of drivers gloves which are great for hot days. |
