I'd like to see Wurz replace him as he knows the team & the cars & it would be a great reward for the work he's done for the team.

I would like to see Wurz but I reckon it will be Fisichella. Which I wouldn't mind at all.

No, McLaren will keep a Scott if they can't have an Englishman.

My guesses in descending order of likelyhood of partnering Kimi next season:
(i.e., most likely first) 1) DC 2) Fisi 3) Wurz 4) Heidfeld 5) Wilson |

I would replace Heidfeld with Villeneuve in that list.

Jacques will NEVER be a Mac as long as Ron runs the show. Ever.

it would be great to see though. Can you imagine the visual appearance of Jacques at the end of his first season at Woking? A world away. And he would be taught 'Ron-speak'. Or in a worst case scenario 'Finn-speak'.

Wurz or Fisichella should be in that seat, but what are McLaren's tactics? Will they employ another 'new boy' like Kimi, or get a older, more experienced driver?

If I were RD (and of course Im not) and was contemplating swapping out DC for a newer model, I would only be interested in either Alonso or Button. Just IMHO.
DC Would make the best tester/R&D driver again IMHO if he lost a racing slot with Mclaren. Last edited by jonathanc; 26 Jun 2003 at 11:43. |

Alonso is certainly NOT available. Button compared to Fisi or Heidfeld? I'd take either of the two little guys before I went for Jenson.

No, Alonso looks more likely to go to Ferrari, but in the distant future.

But DC cant go can he? i thought his contract ends at 2004 year end!?
When they say, DC will be driving with McLaren in 2004, can that mean the they can put him in a testing role? |

DC has been kept as a consistant points scorer, but Raikonen can do that now, better than DC. I say it'll be someone along the lines of Wilson. As much as I'd dearly love to see Button there it's not gonna happen. Sure to be a newish boy.

They should hire Panis. He was impressive as the McLaren tester and would do a better job than DC I reckon.

Mega experience - Panis - I'm sure he is going to want to be rid of Toyota
Medium experience - Heidfeld - although he was passed over last time Total rookie - would love to see Gary Paffett in the car - he was well in with RD before he sidestepped to German F3. |

Why would you bust up the second best driving pairing to date? The drivers championship is all about the fans. It's the manufacturing cup that counts to the constructors. If they can clinch at least that, he goes nowhere.
