Pro Racer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
would Toyota dominate V8's like they have NASCAR?

Toyota are currently domiating NASCAR, should they enter V8's would they or could they dominate?

Depends on how many teams they came in with, what size budgets, how much testing they did with cars that havent been homologated yet.

How long have they been in NASCAR now? 3 years? I dont think they'd be able to replicate success as quickly. Its probably taken a similar amount of time for FPR to get their act together.

A Toyota Aurion TRD in V8 spec sounds good to me! The prospect of a 3 makes in V8 Supercars would be interesting if they were competitive enough.

It's more a case of Kyle Busch/Joe Gibbs Racing dominating NASCAR than Toyota dominating.

Yeah, toyota are hardly dominating...Last year was woeful, and Kyle Busch is clearly on his game at the moment - wouldnt matter what car he was in.

That's an entirely hypothetical question. Nobody possibly could say anything that is not a wild guess.

A Toyota pushrod carburetted 6.0 litre V8. One with no connection to any production model. Just like the Chevrolet, Dodge and Ford engines which have no connection to any production model.

So there's a chance they could de-stroke it down to 5Ltr to use around here.

The engine was developed by TRD in USA based on the current Chevy unit use in the Sprint Cup. It's not the same engine that is in Nationwide or Truck series cars. Apparently some minor differences between engines in each series. If you can find it, there was a interesting documentary show done on Micheal Waltrip through 2006 and start of 2007, which gave you an insight into him starting up his Toyota team. They spend a bit of time at TRD showing the engine and development process.

More like Ford and Holden switch to NASCAR engines. Jason Bright came out earlier in the year and said that it would be more cost effective for them to switch, as the NASCAR engines, run to VESA spec's wouldn't be as highly strung as the current 5 litre blocks. For once Not-so has a good point and idea. It would then open the door for TRD to come in.

This is all hypothetical.

If Toyota entered with a team like Triple 8, I think they would eventually have quite good success.

It all depends on so many factors.

Oh, and the local TRD rally operation is a more appropriate comparison than NASCAR.

I'm sure that TRD Aust would be able to do the job. Not to mention some help from there sister operations around the world would make life easier.

I think you'll find that any entry by Toyota or anyone else would come about once VESA and TEGA sort out this new "standard" chassis they're looking at. If they can hang any manufacturer panels on it that when things would happen. I don't think any prospective organisation thinking of coming in would want to go through all the chassis development and design that Ford and Holden have gone through the least 2 years or more.
