No, he'll stay at mcLaren and hope that Dubai offer him a seat. Which they won't.

Funniest thing is, one of the ad links at the top of this page is advertising "David Coulthard for sale"

If you were a young team just starting out in the deep end of the pool like Red Bull is, I think most of us would look to an expierienced driver like DC to get us off to a smooth start.
He would be especially helpful, should Red Bull pick a young driver like Scott Speed, whom I have high hopes for! |

Welcome to the forum DeeCee. With that name I take it you would like to see DC at Red Bull, do you think he has a chance. It seems that a coupleof young guns are prefered and if they do go for anold hand it may be Heidfeld.

GP Racer - Red Bull are placing Scott Speed in GP2 next year.
I think he could be part of their F1 plans in future years. |

I guess another years expierience in a lesser formula won't hurt, as long as he improves. But if he blows it, then I will be really mad! |

If you were a stock market trader you'd have to go with DC.

How have the team got a hope in hell of developing that car with Calvin-just-call-me-Maureen-Rees-Klien and some other be-gelled european wonder?
Get DC in - whizz with the ladies, good test driver and makes any young hotshoe sponsored by red bull look a whole lot quicker than he really is. |

Logically it would be sensible for Red Bull to put DC in the car, you need a balance of youth and experience. But, as I have learned, F1 doesn't work in logic, it works in money.

True to an extent, FerrariFanatic, but most teams will still select their drivers based on a balanced decision of what will be the best for the team.
Usually this means - what will get the best resullts, down the grid it often means what will best help the team survive. |

Red Bull won't have to choose their drivers based on money - in the short term at least, tehy will have a good supply of money available to try to push up the grid. And I still think having either Heidfeld or Coulthard is pretty essential for this, much as I'd love to see Liuzzi get a chance.

DC would probably be the right choice for Red-Bull if Nick gets chosen as WIlliams driver. Having two relatively in experienced drivers in Liuzzi and Klein would not be the best.

Dietrich Mateschitz, in Autosport:
"I personally believe he is one of the brightest characters in F1." "I believe that he's not only a good-looking driver, but also a great racer." Eh? |
