8 Clubs Revival

I hear entry forms for this year's 8 Clubs Revival will be out at the end of the week. Who's up for it this year?

It's Walter Hayes Trophy support: 4, 5, 6th November (probably just Saturday 5th Nov, with more open races on the Friday). Last year was one of my most fun races of the season, scrapping it out with a XK120, TR6, MGB and a Turner.

Hmmm...might clash with something else I'm working on.
Agree that it was a great couple of days though.
Will see what transpires, but hope to be there.

haggispeed has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
This meeting should also feature the Haggis Memorial Race for Clubmans cars. it is the only event of the year where Classic Clubmans and Clubmans Cup cars compete against each other, usually full grid.

Not at all, Clubmans are eligible for 8 Clubs races as well so many may chose to do more than one race. THe Haggis Memorial race is normally run at this meeting anyway. Last year was an exception, for the 40th Anniversary of Clubmans we had a big event at Silverstone in July, 60+ cars, Derek Bell, Max Mosley and others who started in Clubmans all turned out - fantastic weekend. But now we're into our 41st year it's back to gloomy November - brrrr

It's an allcomers race at Silverstone. Last year there were nearly 100 entries, so always someone to race against.

I've had the 8 Clubs Revival entry forms through the post and am interested in the Friday Shootout (£120) and maybe the Sarurday Revival race (£190!) but the Regs do not say how long the races are so I do not know what I will be getting for my entry fee. Does anybody know the length of races and running order.

Thanks
Andy

The Friday Shootout Race is 12 laps (Entry Fee £120)

You get x2 races for the one entry fee for the 8 Clubs races on Saturday 4th (Entry Fee £190)

The question about the naming of the 8 Clubs.....

The 8 Clubs was a race meeting hosted at Silverstone by an organisation (called...8 Clubs) which was an association of clubs who joined forces to run a 'club' meeting at Silverstone.

The organisation sadly couldn't carry on this tradition after approx. 50 years, and following an approach by Harrow Car Club member and former BRDC director, Dave Brodie, I agreed that the BRDC should carry on the 'tradition' and run races in the name of the 8 Clubs....

These races have found a very welcome home at the BRDC Walter Hayes Trophy, and are run in the full spirit of the original 8 Club events.
These are 'Allcomers' races - run what you brung style, for sports and saloon cars. Basically, if it is a sports or saloon, any shape or size, any type of tyre or engine capacity, it fits the bill.

Great fun, great entertainment for the spectators and marshals at trackside and all in the spirit of yesteryear.

Entry Forms available now !!!
