Going to Pau, help appreciated!
I am planning a visit to Pau for Historic GP on 24 -25th May 2008
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase tickets? Also can I get an admission ticket and wander around including in the paddock or is it best to get a grandstand seat that includes all areas? Any advice gratefully received including a budget hotel. |

AFAIK it is organized by the same people who run the 'modern meeting the following wekend.
ASAC Basco Bearnais 1 bd. Aragon,BO 215 64000 PAU Tel: 59 27 01 94 Not been since 1992,but certainly when I went you could get gen admin, stand & paddock tickets and there were no pit garages Suggest a google search for acommodation I went with a package deal-14 day circular tour of france including Monaco in 81. |

WE have been going to Pau for severall years its one of the best Historic meetings in the year. Please give me a ring Mr Spectator and i can give you all the info you need.
Number now removed, as I'm guessing it is personal and we don't allow personal details to be left up for your own protection. We have a PM service that allows exchange of such information.- JT Last edited by John Turner; 29 Dec 2007 at 21:11. |

I haven't been to the historic meeting, just the modern one a week later, but it's a fabulous place when the sun is shining. There are two paddocks, the main one inside the circuit and another, where we were, in a pleasant park area with trees on the outside. I'm told that if the weather's bad this can become waterlogged!
Try to stay in the town, but book early. Also be prepared to walk a lot and be aware that the paddock area is quite a long way down from the town. There are stairways (I forget the French name for them), but at the end of a long day they can be quite tiring. I wouldn't bother with a grandstand, just walk around. It's a lovely little town, much influenced by the English about a hundred years ago. |
