brack vs tracy
Brack and Tracy remove each other from the race. Who was right or wrong?
Will another contact incident for Brack seal his fate at Ganassi? |

It's a real shame about what happened. Brack was just too anxious. He spent most of his race being held up behind slower cars (Junqueira, Tag, then Tracy), and couldn't wait for a better passing area to get by. From what I saw, the blame rides with Brack. But it wouldn't have hurt if PT had given him just a bit more room.

I have to admit I only saw one replay and it looks like they were both in the wrong... As Rachel said, Kenny made an overly bold move and PT didn't give enough room.
Hopefully they'll be smarter next race... |

It was a good try from Kenny, but the overhead replay showed him losing control of his car turning in.

I agree...Kenny tried a banzai move...PT just didn't give him any racing room. Both to blame.

As Raven alluded to, Brack came in way too hot. He locked up his rears and his car was beginning to spin around on him. That's when he collected Tracy, but Brack would have gone off into the gravel even if he didn't hit PT. Who, I might add, didn't leave Brack much room to begin with.

Definately Brack's fault this one. He gets flustered too easily on road courses these days, and should be headed for the Invisible Racing League again soon.

PT asked him after the race "Where did THAT come from?" and Brack apologized, but as Tracy said rather mildly for him, that didn't get either of them any points. Just a little too desperate there, Brack.
Or did he think we were missing Mr. Bell too much? |

Dumb question on my part but....does it not apply in CART that the car being passed is supposed to hold its line and the passing car is supposed to find the way around.

It appeared to me that PT did give Brack room. Room to get by that is, not room to lockup and spin.
I fault Brack. It was like seeing an older, wiser Tracy get taken out by the Paul Tracy we knew a few years ago. Instant kharma. Last edited by Neil C; 19 Aug 2002 at 16:41. |

I think it was quite a classic "racing incident". You can't blame Bräck for trying, and you can't blame Tracy for holding his line.

In other forms of road racing the car being passed is supposed to hold its line. That way the driver doing the passing knows exactly where the car being passed will be positioned. Otherwise the car may move into the path of the passing car.

Kenny Brack doesn't have a brain and makes stupid moves in nearly all the races.
Its about time Ganassi sacked him and put Memo Gidley back in the #12 car. Last edited by Speedworx; 19 Aug 2002 at 18:21. |

Whatever you think of Brack, hakkiman, I think it can be said, safely, that he does have a brain. Until your post, this topic avoided the slanging that has become common in the F1 Forum.

60/40 Brack. He charged in there, and at least he was having a go. He did lose the back on entry. Having said that, he was alongside Paul. If Paul stands on the brakes and lets Kenny go, I reckon Brack goes off and Paul maintains position. But the fact that Brack lost the back must mean more blame goes to him.

Hakkiman and Neil....my hat's off to both of you.
To Hakkiman for apologizing for the comment and to Neil for graciously accepting the apology. Way to go people. That is why this is one of the great websites...it has CLASS. |

I don't think Ganassi is going to hire Memo Gidley when he can get someone who has experience (Max? Moreno?) and doesn't have anything to prove.
But I definitely think Brack is looking desperate. He had better settle down or even Patrick won't hire him for next year. He'll end up swapping seats with Scheckter. |

After watching both of their antics for a while it seems they were made for each other!
