New Rules for 2007
http://tentenths.com/forum/newthread...newthread&f=43
An interesting list of changes. Going back to the 3.5L engine is surprising, but I suppose it should allow them to run very low revs and have the engines survive for a long time. I'm not sure what the rules were in 2006 with respect to front wing angles on short ovals and road courses. I thought in the past they mandated rear wing angles for each track. |

I suspect this has something to do with Honda and their deterating relationship with the IRL.

It's just relates to IRL's intention to reduce costs for entrants. The longer the duration of the engine, the lower the costs; not very difficult of a question.

Yes, but the engines are the previous ones, therefore there are no development costs connected with this choice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the 3.0L engines use the same block as the 3.5Ls? I thought they did a kind of patch work solution where they just reduced the stroke?

I don't know if it's just me but that link that you provided isn't working for me, it's a link for constructing a new thread.
