Formula Renault info
Could someone please fill me in on which is the best website to get the latest British Formula Renault news? I've been following Will Davison's career for a while now and want to continue doing so.

i usually get my results from the mst timing website for my website, this however does not have reports on races etc - i'm sure the auto action or motor sport news will have plenty to say on how will is going....but like me, you will just have to search the web for write ups on these races.

Don't worry my friends I'am well in progress with a website containing all the latest news, reports etc on the 2002 British Formula Ford, Formula Renault and Formula 3 Championships. Give me a couple of weeks and all will be revealed.

You can also get reports and updates from the website of Will Davison's own team at www.motaworld.co.uk

There are a few sites being set up for the new Formula Renault season. My personal favourite is www.singleseaters.co.uk
It's not up yet, but when it is it should be good. There will be reports and times from all the rounds of the Formula Renault 2002 championship, plus news on testing. All ideas for what you'd like to get from a Renault news site are gratefully received, so tell me what sort of information you'd like to know and I'll put it in the site. What about www.barc.net don't they post anything on their site as the series organisers?

you're thinking of the BARC Formula Renault Series not the Formula Renault UK Championship - 2 different things.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they administer the TOCA supporting series also ?

Yes the BARC does administer both series. The difference between the 2 is that the BARC's own series is for the tubular steel frame chassis used in Formula Renault up until '99, the year Pizzonia won it.

Thanks for the help guys! It has been much appreciated.
I've been trying to find some testing times to see how Will is going, but they are very difficult to find. |

Try www.mstworld.com once the official testing begins. At the minute teams are doing there own testing so now times are really available. The official testing begins at Snetterton at the end of February.

I'm very happy to announce that www.singleseaters.co.uk is now up and running. With a brief look at all the drivers confirmed so far, plus results from the 2001 season, there's a fair bit of information up there. I intend to cover testing, qualifying, racing, the lot, through this site, so keep checking it out as the season moves on. If anyone's got any ideas about what they'd like to see on the site, contact me, I'm always happy to hear constructive criticism. |

Hi Paul
I'd like to see driver interviews/indepth profiles. And a driver of the weekend award. As most of the drivers have there own sites, you could offer this award so they could display it on their site. With a great domain name, why not expand singleseaters.co.uk to other classes. I'm sure people on this forum would be delighted to provide testing/qualifying/race results for the classes they are interested/involved in. Theres some pretty good people here. AV8R |

Hi av8rirl,
At the moment the driver profiles on the site are brief, and I fully intend to improve on them throughout the year, starting with getting mug shots of them all as soon as I can get them in front of a camera! I love the idea of a driver of the weekend award, but as sponsors of the series, Elf already have a "driver of the day" award, and I don't want to be seen to copy that, although I do have a way I can change it to make it different. Thanks for the idea Great domain name? Aw, gee, thanks! I would like to expand to cover more championships, but it depends what happens this year. If I do expand I want to be sure that I can keep up a top standard in Formula Renault, but I'll have to see what time I get, having to juggle earning money with doing the site. Thanks for the ideas, Keep 'em coming! |

Just launched my site onto the web at http://www.britishsingleseaters.cjb.net/ Have to apologise to Paul Rayner in advance for having a very similar URL to his. I registered mine last year not realising anyone would be registering one similar.
Anyway about the site, it's split into three sections for three different championships - British Formula Ford, Renault and F3. The F3 and Formula Ford pages are up now and the Renault one will be up later on tonight. All the sites have the news sections open only. I'am currently working hard on driver profiles etc and hope to have all these up by the beginning of next week. Feel free to email me at any of the championships email addresses (each has its own address) and I would be happy to hear any comments or ideas from anyone on the site through them. regards Gaz |
