Supercar Drivers Round The Bend
The first meeting at this new circuit is on this weekend.
There has been publicity about some Supercar drivers competing in GT cars to gain exposure to the circuit. Jack Le Brocq has gone a different route. He is driving a Ford Sierra in the Heritage Class races. In their first race this morning his fastest lap at 2min 09sec was ONLY 15 seconds quicker than the next competitor. |

Often the case when you a pro driver who doesn't own the car or pay for repair bills is in a field of non-pro drivers who own their cars and pay the bills - particularly in historic cars which is what I assume the Heritage Class is racing.

He finished ONLY 10 seconds ahead.
One would assume he was told to back it off after the 2:09. The car's obviously fast. It also had a very short racing life, built specifically for the '92 Bathurst, which it DNF'd. So one of the last outright class Group A cars ever built. |

Car was a no-show in race 2.
Either JLB hurt it, or they were kindly asked to put it away. |

Just the Group A & C racers would usually have the boost turned down to increase reliability. Albeit Ford Cossie motors are probably still available from Cosworth, so not too worrysome. |
