DSM,
There's a big article with a map in this week's autosport, in the CLub section. |

I doctered an aerial shot of Mallory and posted it in this thread: http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...allory+Changes
Have not got an aerial shot of Oulton but have a good idea of how it will look. If I have time, will knock something up. |

Ok, from what I can work out from a few photos and descriptions, I think it will bend to the right after Hill top, join the Fosters circuit with a tight left hander (near to the Fosters right hander) and join the original old circuit and go through the old knickerbrook as used on the shorter Fosters circuit. I think this is fairly close.

I heard they're rebuilding the pit complex + race control.
Any news on this? |

Thanks Andrew, that's not that bad a change. A chicane for a slightly quicker chicane? Nowadays that's as good as it gets really!

As kaybee states above, there will be new pits and commentary box. There were photos in last weeks MN of the steel structure going up and of the earthworks for the new section.

Taken from www.valeroyal.gov.uk, the website of the District Council in which Oulton Park lives.

Having looked again at the photo of the earthworks in last weeks MN on page 8, together with some other shots I have taken of the knickerbrook area - I think the map I did above is not entirely accurate. Sorry folks!
It would appear that the changes are not as dramatic. The new right hander after hilltop starts at the point where the Fosters circuit rejoins the long circuit. It then takes shape as a larger chicane than before. A left hander just before the small lake then leads the new section back to the the old knickerbrook corner where it rejoins. This means that the chicane is moved further towards hilltop but larger than before and not so 'mickey-mouse'. Hope I'm right this time! |

Andrew - I agree with you last post about it being nearer to KnickerBrook than your original drawing - though I think your original would have been more interesting - especially if one plonker went straight on down the escape road at Cascades just as another got it wrong in the new chicane. That would have given Dave B plenty of sweeping up to do and KayB plenty of arm waving practice...

No
Anyway - judging by the changes, if you get it wrong in the middle of the new chicane, there'll be no sweeping up to do - you'll be in the lake! |
