Red Bull to continue Arrows sponsorship......
Arrows today confirmed that the leading energy drink brand Red Bull would continue sponsoring the team. The brand's logo will be exclusively displayed on the Arrows A23 cars representing the start of a wider, more inclusive, relationship between Red Bull, Arrows and sister Company TWR.
As part of this new relationship and to support its USA marketing drive, Red Bull has also decided to become a major sponsor of the TWR affiliated Indy Racing League operation, Team Cheever. Team Cheever, uses the TWR developed Nissan Infiniti engine. It had been speculated that Red Bull had offered to buy the team, rather than continue sponsorship, but this announcement appears to preclude that happening. Arrows team principal and chairman of TWR, Tom Walkinshaw said, "I have been very impressed with the vision and drive that has made Red Bull so successful to date. This announcement represents the first fruits of our collaboration in the important US market and I am delighted that, through our varied motorsport activities, both Arrows and TWR are able to provide a platform for Red Bull's global marketing strategies, now and in the future" Red Bull boss Dieter Mateschitz commented, "Tom (Walkinshaw) and I share the same vision of wanting to develop a US motorsport strategy alongside our Formula 1 interests. I am pleased to confirm therefore that the Red Bull logo will be seen at the heart of US motorsport in the IRL with Team Cheever as well as in Formula One with Arrows." Reports of a rift between Mateschitz also seem wide of the mark ------------------------------------------(formula1.com) Sponsoring IRL is the more logical choice to get into the American market, and TWR suplies IRL engines. The Arrows sponsorship probably means the the 2nd driver wil be a Red Bull backed driver again, but will it be Enrique or will Red bull go for somebody like Patrick Friesacher?? |

and, no more All-American F1 team either. Oh well, Eddie Cheever needed the sponsorship badly. May be he'll give up his TV work.
