Wow, some really good teams there.... really great to see how the series has established itself as a very good alternative to the FIA GT who doesn't seem to give much about the GT2s this year anways.

Ratel could have saved a lot of face, by just giving the GT2 European Championship title to Parejas and focusing on the GT1 World Series.

Do we know yet if the 24 hours will only be GT2, or will GT3 join in? When it says "Probably there will be any Audi team in GTS", you mean there will probably be no R8s in the championship? |

There will be a change on the fist race of the championship, the season will start on the Circuit Ricardo Tormo at Spain instead Algarve circuit. There was some date conflicts with one national race and finally the circuit was changed.

The only thing I could find was the round of Portuguese Touring Cars, GT and Prototypes, but that is at Estoril. It could be a case that the Portuguese teams could not participate. Oh well. Bad planning. Last edited by AndrewF31; 6 Feb 2010 at 19:21. |

Ok, thanks.
There was nothing on the track website and the Portuguese federation only had races at Estoril that weekend. |

Actually, they did it on purpose, the Estoril/Algarve dates were switched to have the national races in the same weekend as GT Open. The federation wanted to run the PTCC package in the same weekend to give the national championships more exposure (also, the organising club saves a bundle of money only renting the track once).

That Portuguese motor racing federation should be gentler with GT Sport, which is a great oportunity for them to get more international relevance.

Unofficially, they say the Algarve track's administrator is getting a bit greedy. |

They aren't going to attract international customers by leeching the international organizers and running just National Touring, GT, Formula, etc. races. |

According to Endurance-Info, AF Corse will enter two cars: Alvaro Barba/tba and Matt Griffin/tba.
Raymond Narac says that IMSA Performance will run a car for him and Patrick Pilet. JMB is also looking at running their F430 GT2, but nothing confirmed there. Anyone heard of Trottet Racing or Playteam? This year could be really exciting! |

-The Open GT colective test in Spa (25-26 march) get suspended, the cause is the Blanchimont tunnel collapse.
-AF Corse will enter 3 Ferrari GT2 in the Euro Open, the team won´t use the name Advanced Engineering anymore. The drivers lineup will be -Álvaro Barba and Pierre Kaffer on the first car -Matt Griffin and Jack Gerber on the second and a third car under the name of AT Racing with -Alexander Talkanitsa and Alexander Talkanitsa Jr. |

Don't think anyone has mentioned this yet but MotorsTV will continue to broadcast GT Open in Europe again, this time with 4 live events, including the opener in Valencia, and the last 2 events, apart from their highlight packages.
