Australian fans get shafted again.
It was bad enough that Channel Nine (Australia's ONLY broadcaster of F1 races) delayed the British GP until 5am (over 7 hours after it started), we now have the same situation for the French GP in two weeks time.
Of course, the mens Wimbledon final would most likely outrate F1 (especially since an Aussie was in the final) but to then delay the race after showing football then two other programs is quite unacceptable. We then had to put up with Darryl Eastlake's apparent lack of awareness that Barrichello stalled on the grid as he had to get his all important sentence finished. Amatuers. |

OK, I taped Wimbledon (forgone conclusion), and went to bed early, got up at 4.45 and watched the GP. Actually, it's less tiring than staying up until 11 pm to watch the race. As for Dazza, common, the guy's brain dead.

Yes, I too am sick of Channel Nine, there attitude for Formula One racing is totally absymal - its a bloody disgrace, whoever the moron in the programming department who decides to delay races by 7 hours is stupid git and oughta be shot, it's just not fair that Australia is forced to endure third world Formula One coverage. Shame on you C9.

Give the rights to Channel 10. Their coverage of the CART championship, MotoGP, WSBK, WRC and V8s is far superior to anything Channel 9 can come up with.

Gee - I just released that gravity of my grammatical errors in my last post Guess anger fuels spelling errors...
F1Manoz - is channel 10 really doing THAT good a job? I now they are commited to a lot or motor racing, but their CART coverage is pretty shoddy, and the V8's aren't to red hot either. Admittadly though, their bike coverage is pretty good. But what happens if their is F1 race and Moto GP/WSBK race on at once? I actually would like to see C7 get the rights, because they don't have many sports at the moment since losing AFL, so F1 would get high-priority. ABC anyone? |

ABC first held the rights when F1 was first shown on Australian TV in 1981. But they were obviously outbid....
DNQ, the F1 going to Channel 7 may not be such a bad idea. Didn't really even consider them as hosting the F1. |

Well, I know this has been said billions of times amongst Australian F1 fans but the best solution would be a similar setup to Ch10 and Foxtel's coverage of the MotoGP. At least we'd get to see F1 live (or at the very least decent coverage with no 3min+ ad breaks) and those without pay TV can still watch it on FTA.

We must be lucky in Melbourne a large group of people head off to a pub in the city and watch the race live, 10.00pm sounds alot better than 5.00am replay.
Its a great nite, a little trouble on sunday nite with french commentry, but hey it made all the more fun. The preavious GP we had english commentary, from all reports the French commentary was a little hiccup. Overall got to watch the race live, had a good nights sleep spent time with a very large group of people all enjoying F1 racing ......................not a problem. To be honest who cares about channel nine..............though I agree they treat F1 fans like dirt. Cheers all |
