2016 Historic Formula Ford Race Series. Race dates, Info, contacts, news

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the best UK Racing Series in Historic racing and we are pretty busy & friendly too...!

Organised by The Historic Sports Car Club and sponsored in association with Avon Tyres.

Get the latest and a lot more from our website at www.HistoricFF.co.uk cars for sale or wanted, required driving standards, reports and of course our official HFF videos courtesy of Josh Barratt Film Enterprises.

Look in on us, (link above, click 'videos' then 'HFF Videos') we are a busy bunch and can be rather exciting at times....

For 2016 we will continue our 'come one - come all' racing format where we will not have any reserves at some races (dependent on circuit grid numbers). There will be double qualifying sessions where the top half of each will qualify for race 2 and the lower group are in race 1.
Top finishers in race 1 then go into race 2 subject to grid space.

It seemed to work last time and made life interesting and like abilities raced together. Good eh?

provisional dates for 2016.

April 16th – 17th Castle Combe. Great circuit lovely atmosphere, friendly faces - the HSCC goes back for it's 50th Birthday!

May 21st – 22nd Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit (International Trophy) WE have a great time here and there could be 50 car grids - watch this space.

June 18-19 Cadwell Park (Wolds Trophy) HFF X 2 Races* HFF Cricket match too!

July 1st – 2nd Brands Hatch GP Circuit (Historic Super Prix) BIG meet - mega circuit!

August 6/7 Croft (Terrific Nostalgia Weekend) HFF X 2 Races, HFF Party Friday night & Dinner & Dance 40's style Saturday night! We know how to live...! Join us - great weekend.

August 27-29 Oulton Park (Gold Cup) full circuit. Great crowds, great circuit and great cars off & on track.*

September 24 Brands Hatch Indy Championship points get important here!

October 15 (and maybe the 16th too) Silverstone (National circuit) Trophy Finals. Prize presentations and champ-ending Party...

Issues outstanding, no date from Donington yet.
Possible grids to send to Thruxton at one of their race Meetings.

Then there's the Walter Hayes of course...

* Expect the occasional HFF BBQ or even Soup Kitchen gatherings!

(all info as at Nov 7th see further posts for firm dates).
Go to the HSCC website for the full programme of racing with us including F5000's F3's Touring Cars HFF 2000's and more. See link below.

Here's a link for more information on our series if you have an eligible pre 1972 car and want to join us.

link to the membership form.
http://www.hscc.org.uk/images/Member...Form_Blank.pdf . Please complete it and send it to the office.
Annual membership is £150. You will also need to register to a championship (HFF) by using the following form
http://www.hscc.org.uk/resources/Cha...ion%202012.pdf and sending it in together with your membership application.

You can of course have a one day membership for £20 giving you a one-off race at one meeting in the year.
Come and try us out for size...we race WITH friends not AGAINST them.

We will be at The Autosport Show and The RETRO Show - come and have a chat. See us on The HSCC Stand.

Finally the club has a useful website at http://www.hscc.org.uk/ for all forms/info.........and Formula Fordsters have a simple little website at www.HistoricFF.co.uk http://www.historicff.co.uk/

PS We are looking to finance a couple of people to look after our hospitality side of things and may have a budget to pay for costs for a few rounds. Contact us if you would like to be involved on our social side.

Those dates look interesting Dikko, the classic F3 ones I have seen has the Brands Superprix a week later and the Silverstone international a week earlier

If your Superprix dates are correct then the annual July pilgrimage to the IOM can go undisturbed

Brands

I will do my best to attend the Brands Hatch Super Prix with my Lotus 61.

I have a FIA HTP. Do I need a international racing licence or will the Swedish /EU licence do?

/Henrik

Henrik, you are most welcome to our little series and we'll do all we can to accommodate. here's the official answer to you and any of our guests from your side of the water.

No problem with the car eligibility, and he can have a day membership to take part in one event. License: All our meetings are covered by NCAFP which allows for foreign participation. He will need to check with the Swedish authorities either there is a note on the back of his licence (as per UK licence) which grants him permission to take part in overseas National Events or they may have to supply him with a letter giving their approval. HSCC.

Hope you can do that; Contact us nearer the time for more information, we do have Finnish and Swedish entrants who attend most of our races and maybe we can put you in touch with them if it helps.

Dick Dixon. HSCC HFF Series.

Official announcement of HSCC Race dates.

News from the Historic Sports Car Club

Sunday 29 November 2015

HSCC 2016 calendar to start at Castle Combe

The Historic Sports Car Club has unveiled its 2016 racing calendar, which will open with a special two-day meeting at Castle Combe (16/17 April).

The new event at the Wiltshire track will be a focal point of the club’s 50th anniversary season and will celebrate the very first HSCC race in 1966 when a group of 1950s sports cars contested the inaugural Griffiths Formula race at Castle Combe.

The balance of the season includes high-profile events on the Silverstone and Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuits as well as major historic festivals at Croft and Oulton Park.

Season highlights include the International Trophy on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit (21/22 May), the Autosport three-hour meeting at Snetterton (4/5 June), the Wolds Trophy meeting at Cadwell Park (18/19 June), the Historic Super Prix on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit (1/2 July), the Croft Nostalgia Festival (6/7 August) and the Oulton Park Gold Cup (27-29 August).

One-day events will be held at Brands Hatch Indy (24 September) and the traditional Silverstone Finals (15 October). HSCC members will also have the opportunity to race at Spa-Francorchamps during the Classic Six-Hour meeting (16-18 September).

In addition, the HSCC will again be organising the racing element of several key events, including the Donington Historic Festival (30 April-2 May), the Silverstone Classic (29-31 July) and the Walter Hayes Trophy (5/6 November).

“We’ve got an excellent calendar for 2016 and I’m particularly pleased to be going to Castle Combe to mark the club’s 50th anniversary,” said HSCC Chief Executive Officer Grahame White. “We’ll announce more details about the Castle Combe event over the coming weeks.”

The provisional HSCC calendar is:
Sat/Sun 16/17 April Castle Combe (50th Anniversary)
Sat/Sun 21/22 May Silverstone GP (International Trophy)
Sat/Sun 4/5 June Snetterton (Autosport 3-Hours)
Sat/Sun 18/19 June Cadwell Park (Wolds Trophy)
Sat/Sun 1/2 July Brands Hatch GP (Historic Super Prix)
Sat/Sun 6/7 August Croft (Nostalgia Weekend)
Sat-Mon 27-29 August Oulton Park (Gold Cup)
Sat 24 September Brands Hatch Indy
Sat 15 October Silverstone National (Finals Day)

There will be a couple of HFF reps on the HSCC stand for anyone who would like a chat both at the Autosport show and the Retro show.

See you there.

Most registrations are in and we are about 110 strong this year - not bad for oldies...
Chats at the shows indicate there are more cars to come.

We have about four sponsored races and room for some more if anyone needs to promote themselves through us.

First newsletter is out but not on the website. Nothing new to report apart from a rumour of an invite to South Africa for a few free races later in the year, next newsletter.

Castle Combe coming up and we are a FULL grid...plus 10 and counting...

Our 'Double Grid' System is likely to take place so, apart from making sure everyone reads what they have to do - it's going to be EASY...(who am I kidding?) but GREAT FUN.

Castle Combe had 43 entries but on the day whittled down to 39. We decided to have one busy qualifying and two races.

An experiment which had its plus's and minus's. Altogether a tentative start to the season for some and a leap for others.

Next up Grand Prix Track at Silverstone with 50 entries - it'll be a big 'un!
