Kamui Kobayashi will test a Super Formula car. It's a great choice for him.

I mostly think that Kobayashi will have more experience than Nakajima in Super Formula next year. Just wondering.

Same as with the other single seater series he was running in. Sponsored by Nismo but running Toyota power. Team Impul is Nissan backed in Super GT, but they (Nissan) dont supply super formula engines. Kobayashi besting other regulars in this series I think shows his huge speed and talent.

Mardenborough was quickest in todays morning wet session, but Kamui Kobayashi was fastest overall again at the end of the day.

Was there a no points event still to go?

Past years they had Super Formula, and the Super GT series run all on same weekend, will it happen again this year? Then I think another Toyota day, like Honda had last week.

Why isn't Nissan supplying Super Formula? The engines are the same as in Super GT?

There is no Fuji Sprint Cup this year. The Toyota Gazoo Racing festival and the Honda Thanks Day took place on the same Sunday November 23rd, Toyota in Fuji and Honda in Motegi. I still fail to understand why it has to be the same day.
To continue on the SF/Nissan theme, Impul was there at the Gazoo festival with Hoshino San and JP. It's often the case. Interestingly the Nismo drivers and teams are always using Toyota power in SF, never Honda. At the Nismo festival Darren Cox repeated that Nismo has always been and will continue to be about sports cars and GT so there is little hope to see a Nissan engine in a Dallara SF14 anytime soon.

Hearing via Twitter that Magnussen may race in Super Formula next year, as he won't be doing GP2.

There is a possibility that KCMG will expand to two cars for Yuichi Nakayama and Tsugio Matsuda. So that's a Toyota young driver and Nissan works driver in the same team.

Jann Mardenborough essentially confirmed for a 2015 Impul ride.

Wow, NISMO aren't afraid to put Jann wherever is the biggest challenge! So may be 20 cars for next season?

No, they have separate calendars for 2015 - Super GT even have a race abroad in Thailand whilst SF remains entirely in Japan.

There's also lot's of talk that Jann is a shoe-in for a Nissan WEC seat for next year too.

This year saw quite a few drivers combine single-seaters and sportscars (Andre Lotterer, Loic Duval, Richie Stanaway, Mathieu Vaxiviere & Lucas Auer to name a few). There's only one clash between SF and the WEC (both their opening rounds take place on April 12) so in theory he could combine the two, which would be great to see IMO.

It badly needs UK TV coverage. Surely it's something Motors TV could pick up relatively cheaply

Motors used to have it a few years back.
Not quite sure why they don't anymore (whether their choice or the series' choice), but I'd love them to show it again!
