Toyota going to Le Mans with a GTE car?
Toyota just showed what looks to me like a GTE Supra Race concept car in Geneva auto show. Why would they design one if they are not racing it?

Painful answer - it's cheaper to make one concept car and then promote it via racing simulators than to actually pour money into a racing programme. And you can possibly get more eyeballs on your brand this way...

It really is very cheap advertising when you think about it, do you use actual money to push images of your car on to the press and motor racing forums, or get a bloke who can mock up pictures of a possible future car and then carefully release them to the right media. Or have i seen this all before.

From what I read in the motoring press the concept is for a computer racing game, not actual racing...... Also a teaser for the road car release!

I would rather see this Toyota GT run than the LMP1 car.

I think this car is more a demonstrator than a project for a entry in GTE.

According to every magazine report I’ve read, Toyota have no current plans to race ‘this’ car, despite the fact that it was built by Gazoo. |

Autosport magazine (Sam Collins) reports that Toyota is using former Dome's wind tunnel for Supra GTE development.
