Lamborghini Super Trofeo USA
With Lime Rock releasing their race weekend schedule for the 2013 race. I noticed that there are several support series running this time (that is good). But one of which I never even knew existed in North America.
This seems to have just cropped up from what I am reading. Looks as if it will run along side ALMS, Grand-AM and IndyCar races with their first appearance being at Mid-Ohio in accordance Grand-Am this coming weekend. From their main website. "As one of its most important markets and with a positive appetite for motor racing, it is fitting that Lamborghini is introducing the successful and established Super Trofeo concept to North America in 2013." "The Super Trofeo is heading to North America. After the expansion into the Asian market, Lamborghini is bringing the world's fastest one-make series to the USA and Canada, where the races will be held alongside Grand-AM, American Le Mans Series and IndyCar events. 20-plus grids on popular circuits like the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course or the Kansas Speedway ensure exciting action. During the season the drivers will fight for more than just fame, points and wins. To the victors go not only the spoils, they will also be invited to participate in the Super Trofeo World Final in Vallelunga, Italy. There they will take on the winners from the European and Asian Series." More information here: http://squadracorse.lamborghini.com/...rica/calendar/ Hopefully than can get healthy car counts. |

New series in the US, been running in Europe for a couple of years. Average grid size 15-20 cars, just topping the latter number this year. Won´t hold my breath for big grids, World Challenge will provide more entertainment when it comes to that (and adding variety to!).

I'd rather see the Lambo's than Formula Vee's as a support race for ALMS :P

As far as I remember, championships like the Lambo Supertrofeo and the Trofeo Maserati feature lots of incredibly unexperienced drivers

The only interest I see in single brand competitions like this is driver with the same machine comparison, and what livery fits more to one car, same with Porsche supercup or corse clienti, the only race i would dare to see would be that involving the top level ferrari machines those FXX ones, and only cause is really hard to see those cars.

Partnership with IMSA extended for 2018 and next year's calendar
May 1-3 - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca June 26-28 - Watkins Glen International August 21-23 – Virginia International Raceway September 17-19 - Circuit of the Americas October 1-3 – Road Atlanta But what's really interesting for next year that the new trofeo version Huracán (which looks sexy as hell) and old Gallardo run side by side next year, just as Ferrari Challenge did with 458/430 and older 430/360 etc models previously. So you have some machinery variety there in non-BoP environment. Moreover, I only just discovered that Lamborghini actually streams these races live on their website http://squadracorse.lamborghini.com/en/live-usa Came as bit of a surprise as they don't really give these races any coverage anywhere, and if they do it's some random races of the European series put on youtube months later... so that could be nice. Of course, the grids in Europe are more impressive Last edited by Deleted; 10 Oct 2014 at 19:11. |

Series seems to have picked highlights deal on CBS Sports last year. All of the TV broadcasts from last year are up on their tube page now. RLM comms whenever they were present with IMSA weekends
https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSuperTrofeo/videos For this year, Road Atlanta dropped but there is Road America + support race for Indycars in Boston... Last edited by Deleted; 18 Jan 2016 at 15:55. |
