2012 ADAC GT Masters
I surprisingly did not find any thread relating to the 2012 racing season of the ADAC GT Masters.
Some new teams entering the championship in 2012 with 4 McLaren MP4-12C (Gemballa Racing and Molitor Racing) and 1 Nissan Skyline GT-R Gt3 run by Schulze Motorsport. And a great entry list so far with 6 Mercedes SLS, Porsches, Ferrari 458 Italia,Chevrolet Camaro,Corvette C6 as well as Lamborghini Gallardo and BMW Alpina http://www.adac-gt-masters.de/frameset/index.php |

Thanks for the precision about the "R35"
I even forgot to mention the "old" Audi R8 Lms and the Bmw Z4 run by swedish team WestCoast Racing. Unfortunatly seems like team Abt withdraw with their Audi R8 |

Newest confirmations:
- Alpina with 1 works car for Dino Lunardi and Maxime Martin - Lambda Performance with a pair of Ford GT - Schubert with a pair of Z4 Still no significant (read semi-works) Audi presence. We already know that Abt won't race in GT-Masters this year, but with BMW stepping up with Schubert it would be a shame to see no serious program from Ingolstadt. Full entrylist here Full season entries will be capped at 44, so there's room for two more cars. |

So if Schubert race here does that mean no participation in FIA GT3 this year?

Quite surprised by Audi's disappearing act in GTs. Apart from WRT in GT World and Blancpain, the other stallwarts of Audi GT racing, Phoenix and Abt, have vanished a bit. Unless they sign up for the last 2 spots or go to VLN, it's weird news. We only know Phoenix will have 2 cars at Spa 24 so it would be odd if they only race once this year.
Unless they jump over to GT3 Europe. Anyways, ADAC GT Masters is looking big this year. For a time Schubert seemed to be backing out according to the apparent loss of Need for Speed, so they originally only announced the N24. Unless they've expanded their team, I don't see them going to GT3 Europe. |

So Schubert have definitely lost the Need For Speed backing? Kind of explains the Saudi Falcons at Dubai.

Well, the ADAC entry list seems to point in another direction, since the team is called Need for Speed Schubert.
I had gotten the impression Schubert was having sponsorship problems after something Andy Blackmore said late last year, since it was he who was behind the livery of the team in 2011. And, as you mentioned, their Dubai excursion was funded by Saudi Falcons, but that could have been just an extension of their program on request or in combination with the Saudis. Anyways, good to see them still around. FIA GT3 Europe has shown very little news lately. |

Its looking like a great entry list for this year, some pretty top teams in Reiter, Young Driver, Callaway, Schubert, ALPINA.
Aside from no Pheonix or Abt how about Black Falcon this year? Also being in the UK any ideas on if or where i will be able to watch GT Masters this year? |

Some good entires in there like YD AMR, Reiter, Black Falcon but the lack of a front running Audi will deffinately hurt.

Schubert will also be the BMW works team at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Z4 GT3.

Well, looks like Ingolstadt is still serious about the GT-Masters:
- Mamerow switch from Mercedes to Audi and get one of the new Ultras. - Team UHC Prosperia get a generous helping of factory drivers with Chris Mies, Christer Jöns and Christian Abt, who makes a comeback after a two year hiatus. And in non-Audi-news: DB-Motorsport gets the last two entries and will field a pair of BMW Z4s. Last edited by Speed-King; 7 Mar 2012 at 15:50. |

DB Motorsport share their 2 cars between Blancpain and GT Masters?
A third (older?) car they enter in Supercar Challenge. |

From my counts, it seems previously mentioned entries have disappeared:
- 2nd Gemballa/Zakspeed McLaren MP4-12C (still have the 2 Molitor Racing McLaren's) - MS-Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R (they only have the SLS AMG now) |

Finally some explanations on the political changes that occured behind the scenes over the winter:
- GT-Masters is no longer run in cooperation with SRO Deutschland, but a full ADAC-series - The German Motorsport Federation DMSB will give technical assistance - the series will have their own BoP. The split with the SRO was among other things a result of teams being unhappy with the BoP of the Ratel organisation. http://www.gt-eins.at/cms/index.php?...=7168&Itemid=1 |

BoP hasn´t been done by SRO Deutschland in 2011, so this argument isn´t true. BoP was based on FIA data with special changes for the ADAC GT Masters, influenced by the same persons, who are still in charge for that in 2012. So no changes....

Yeah, I also heard that GT Masters will use exactly the same BoP as FIA GT3. Blancpain ES on the other hand is doing their own (SRO?).
