I really liked this car. OK I am a Jag fan, but it is still surprising.
I was 'against' the 10 and 11 because of the non Jag V6 in it. (oh no 220 argh!) You'd think that the Ford engined 14 would turn me off a lot! However a combination of a glorious car (it looked great) and decent performance sorted me out. Oh and Brundle and Silverstone that year. Wow. I also like the colour scheme (which, of course, is purple not pink ). |

OK, copyright is copyright : JJSS, I edited your comments ; keep your appreciation about pics owners for you.
I deleted three posts above about copyright that have no place to be in a forum about sportscars and GT ( TT is not a forum about copyrights and journalists/photographers choices); I'll be harsh on that ; back to topic please ! Last edited by Fab; 6 Dec 2003 at 08:48. |

That has got to be one of the most amazing chassis ever made . It started out as a Jaguar XJR-14 and suddenly was seen as a Mazda MXR-01 and then went and won LeMans (1996-1997) twice . Bloody brilliant .
I only got to see it once , when TWR practiced it at LeMans back in 1991 I think . It was a pretty stunning car to say the least . |

Hey Romania boys ! Are you intend to come next june ? Remember that we have a "wine tasting meeting" with speciality of different countries (Javi had a marvelous Rioja last year, Pascal Tokay from Alsace, and my modest Muscadet), we love to extend to other countries !
Hope to see you there ! |

The actual chassis that won Le Mans in 1996 and 1997 was the car that Fabi won the WSC title with in 1991. It was shipped to the US and ran with a turbo in IMSA in 1992 and stayed until Porsche snaped it up in 1994 to run at the bi three in 1995. The original WSC TWR aero package was horendous and after being given more weight and less power by IMSA it was put in the museum. Joest picked up the cars and Porsche gave it a new nose and some bodywork but most of the $$$ was put towards the Porsche GT1 which had the $$$ and a better motor.
Of course, we all know the history that the XJR14/WSC had. |
