Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, July 6th 2008
Briscoe on pole as we head back to road courses - Justin Wilson alongside!
Penske book-end the field with Castroneves starting last! 1. Briscoe (Penske) 2. Wilson (Newman-Haas/Lanigan) 3. Hunter-Reay (Rahal-Letterman) 4. Dixon (Ganassi) 5. Servia (KV) 6. Kanaan (Andretti-Green) 7. M Andretti (Andretti-Green) 8. Manning (Foyt) 9. Wheldon (Ganassi) 10. Meira (Panther) 11. Junqueira (Dale Coyne) 12. Power (KV) 13. Moraes (Dale Coyne) 14. Patrick (Andretti-Green) 15. Viso (HVM) 16. Bernoldi (Conquest) 17. Rice (Dreyer & Reinbold) 18. Rahal (Newman-Haas/Lanigan) 19. Dominguez (PCM) 20. Mutoh (Andretti-Green) 21. Carpenter (Vision) 22. Foyt IV (Vision) 23. Camara (Conquest) 24. Howard (Roth) 25. Duno (Dreyer & Reinbold) 26. Castronevers (Penske) Yeah! Howard's back - though Roth slim to one car. If Vision keep doing so badly on road courses, we'll never see Indycar go to any more |

Surprised Power is so far back.
Would not be surprised to see him make up significant ground through the field. |

Half of those clowns need to go to a good driving school. Not a race driving school just a driving school.
Add in terrible camera work and constant commercials a good chunk of which were promos for ABC shows. Going to commercial break when you know pit stops are coming is not too bright. |

Nice to see that top 3. RHR was well overdue a win. Manning executed his strategy to near perfection and was pulling clear of Tony who himself did well to last the distance.

Excellent win by RHR; and Manning hopefully has kept his seat for the season as a result of that 2nd place. Moraes put in a good show as well, he was up to 5th or so in the early stages. It still amazes me that ChampCar didn't do more to keep RHR in their series after 2005.

A couple of years ago, Ryan Hunter-Reay was the most glaring example of all the things wrong with American open-wheel racing: a vastly talented young American driver with two victories to his credit who somehow could not find a competitive full-time ride. He was reduced to a limited-schedule Grand-Am GT ride in 2006, barely staying on the racing map. Now, he has an apparently secure home at a Rahal-Letterman Racing team that is back on the rise after scaling back to a single-car outfit, and has just won his first IndyCar Series race. Congratulations to him.
