f1atic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Track record holder on pole?

Rubens holds the track lap record. This means little in many ways, but it does indicate speed and knowledge of the track. Can Rubens snatch his first pole in Spain?

He is certainly due.

…From GP2004.com's excellent post-race report
… If you check the gap between Michael and Rubens in the first four qualifying sessions and races this year, you would have to say that the difference has increased dramatically in comparison to last year. In fact, in 2003 the average qualifying time set by Rubens over 16 qualifying sessions was 0.121 seconds faster than Michael. The comparison of the fastest race lap can only be done fairly in 11 out of the 16 occasions, but in that situation, Rubens also had with an advantage of 0.008 seconds on his teammate. This year it looks completely different. After four qualifying sessions Michael was on average 0.396 seconds faster and in the best race lap his advantage is even more dramatic: 0.667 seconds.
It seems that this is a car that suits Michael particularly well.

Yes, it does seem to. Though I should think that 8-9 cars out of 10 would 'suit' Michael better than Rubens.

Seriously though, I wonder whether it might also have something to do with their attitudes. Schuey is driving with no pressure and is making it all look a bit easy and I think that that may be haivng an impact on Rubens' mental attitude.

Now I've said that, Rubens probably will have one of his great weekends and win from pole!

Nah.....Catalunya is one of those Schumey tracks.

Barrichello will probably be his usual quiet self. Although the developments Ferrari are bringing may make the car less edgy and, therefore, more to Rubens' taste.

But don't put your house on it!

No way would I bet on it. Actually, I think Jense may steal another pole away from Ferrari.

Rubens did tip Michael in session 2 though.
