Stolen Trailer!!
Please keep a lookout for my trailer that went missing over the weekend.
Its an old tilt bed Brian James twin axle 16 foot with hand hydraulic pump/electric winch. A bit manky looking but Iv just done the brakes/wheel bearings and tyres. B*stards got it from a "secure" compound and removed the wheel clamp/dragged it away with the drawbar lock on and one wheel locked on by a bolt through the rim.... Any info greatly appreciated or thats my season over before its even begun!! |

Bad luck mate. Keep an eye out for it, we will. Can you post a picture? Was it in the Louth area?

Sorry the read about your trailer. Will keep an eye out in Peterborough.
Any way of spotting quickly, like odd colour wheels or your name cut or welded in the bed. |

Colin do you recon that they were waiting for you to finish doing it up before they stole it.
If so it was probably somebody local that had it away and had already got a buyer! Having had a few things thieved over the years I know just how you feel. You can only do so much to secure things but if someone is determined they will have it away. |

I would check on eBay, stolen items appear on there from time to time and there's quite a number of Brian James trailers within 100 miles of Louth. You never know...

Been there myself (as have others). Sorry to read about it Colin but E Bay may be your best source.

Thanks guys it appears there has been a few nicked around Louth this last week or so...
PS a previous owner sprayed it in a sort of greeny hard wax and it shows up a bit, Its also got one piece long mudguards and an ally treadplate box on nearside front. Im posting the winch wiring and switch on Ebay later..... Last edited by COLIN STUBBS; 24 Feb 2009 at 06:57. |

This BJ's wheel locks are bloody useless, I drove away with mine on and didnt hardly notice it as it just snapped the extended studs clean off! I use a meaty Bulldog clamp now. I know where I would start looking but if it was me I wouldnt bother without an armed escort.

Agreed with the comments re: eBay - keep an eye out for trailers appearing there.

Any luck Colin?
I've been keeping an eye on eBay for a Brian James trailer with one wheel rustier than the other on one side and I haven't seen any yet |

Likewise 3-year-old 14-foot Woodford tilt-bed stolen from Birmingham 10 days ago, they cut through the padlock on the gate, a wheelclamp, a Bulldog hitchlock and the ball lock. No major distinguishing features apart from erratic tyremarks on the runways and a lot of oilstains on the decking, plus one slightly flattened chock. I do have the serial number recorded.
